Interview
Reporter:First of all Jonathan congratulations on a great start and thank you for being here.
Jonathan Dwyer:Ya we've had a great start and thank you for having me.
Reporter:What would winning a Heisman Trophy mean to you?
Jonathan Dwyer:Well I'm not going to lie to you it would be an incredible honor for me, but it isn't my main goal. My goals are to go undefeated in the regular season, win the ACC Championship, and then win the National Championship. Then after those three things I would put winning the Heisman next, but if we can accomplish those first three it will be an unbelievable season.
Reporter:What would you say is the best aspect of your game?
Jonathan Dwyer:I would have to say the best part of my game is my my determination. I want so badly to get into the endzone I always keep my legs churning until I get there. Also I would say I have very deceptive speed. The guys make fun of me a lot because I play fullback but I'm just as fast if not faster than most the guys and once I get in the open field I'm pretty hard to catch.
Reporter:How would you say you have improved from last season to this season?
Jonathan Dwyer:The biggest thing is probably just my whole understanding of the offense. Last year I was a little confused at times, but this year I always know exactly what my assignment is. I would also have to say my leadership has improved a lot, with so few seniors some of us juniors and younger guys need to step up.
Reporter:How does your game translate to the next level?
Jonathan Dwyer:I think I have the skills to play in the NFL, but I still have to put in a lot of work to get there, and that's not my major concern at this point in time.
Reporter:How has Coach Johnson and the rest of the staff helped push and develop your skills?
Jonathan Dwyer:They have helped me a lot. They see my potential and always push me to be my best. I owe a lot to them and thank them for believing in me.
Reporter:Ok well thank you for your time Jonathan and good luck with the rest of your season.
Jonathan Dwyer:Thank You.
