JAKE LEWIS WR 4* Clevland Heights, OH

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati Trovonreedauburnsportsjpg-2c5f462194b9e22c_small

Ht: 6'1"
Wt: 160 lbs
40: 4.34
Bench: 265
Vertical: 35
Class: 2010 (high school)

On the Hoof: Very unassuming on the hoof and slight in stature. He is built like a like a cornerback.
Needs Improvement: Lewis needs to get stronger because his frame will not hold a ton of weight and needs to have a more consistent effort while practicing.
Most Impressive: His speed is lighting-bolt fast and he has very good hands. He is used to having the ball in his hands and will score if hit in stride.
Conclusion: A serious candidate for punt and kick returns, which he will be given an opportunity to compete for early in his career. He may also be used on third-and-long as a freshman because he is a serious vertical threat.

KYLE CURRY WR 5* Chicago, Illinois

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati MIKEDAVIS11_23150

Ht: 6'0"
Wt: 177lbs
40: 4.48
Bench: 289
Vertical: 35
Class: 2010 (High School)

On the Hoof: Curry has long arms and big hands, allowing him to play much bigger than his listed height. Though he is fairly thin through the chest, he has continued to add strength to his build and will likely develop into a very physical receiver.
Needs Improvement: Straight-line speed is lacking for Curry. He is not going to run away from cornerbacks and does get caught from behind on occasion. With the ball in his hands, Curry can make the initial defender miss but rarely turns a short catch into a huge gain.
Most Impressive: Curry makes up for any lack of speed with elite route-running ability and phenomenal hands. He understands how to stem a defensive back and set up his cuts, always is in control of his body and changes directions with strength and explosion. Once the ball is in the air, Curry has great concentration, soft hands and is strong through the catch. Has the ability to make spectacular catches.
Conclusion: There will always be a place on the field for a player like Curry that can run great routes and catch anything thrown in his vicinity. With a little added strength and speed, Curry has the ability to be an incredibly productive target for a major college quarterback.

Andrew Henry DT 3* Live Oak, Texas

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati KYLEWOESTMANN10_1150

Ht: 6'5"
Wt: 282lbs
40: 4.78
Bench: 480
Squat: 665
Class: 2010 (High School)

On the Hoof: Has a very wide and powerful base that makes it nearly impossible to knock him off the ball. Henry also has great lower bidy size, with thick legs that he uses to drive interior linemen.
Needs Improvement: He sometimes pops straight up off the snap of the ball and needs to be more consistent with his pad level at the point of attack. Also needs to improve on his upper body strength.
Most Impressive: He gets so low and comes off the ball so hard that he can get underneath and overpower lineman. Henry also plays with a nasty disposition and is looking to physically embarrass his opponent.
Conclusion: Should be starting by his Sophmore year but still needs to improve in a few areas for that to happen.

ADAM HALE TE 4* Rohnert Park, CA

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati BRANDONMOSLEY8_19150

Ht: 6'4"
Wt: 249lbs
40: 4.76
Bench: 414
Squat: 360
Class: 2010 (High School)

On the Hoof: He has excellent height and a frame and can play tight end or fullback
Needs Improvement: He could add some size and strength to his powerbase, which should help him run block. Does he have the nastiness to line up in the traditional tight end position for every down and distance?
Most Impressive: Hale has very soft hands and is a threat to gain yards after he catches the pass. He can make linebackers miss in the open field with his quick feet and smooth effortless gate. Hale is also a very talented run blocker.
Conclusion: If he comes in ready to compete, he will play as a true freshman. Hale is just too big and athletic to keep off the field. Don't be surprised if he ends up playing fullback depending on the depth chart and where he is needed most. He definitely has the athleticism and size to become an NFL player.

CAMERON HINES FS 4* Leisure City, FL

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati COREYCOOPER7_7150

Ht:6'0"
Wt: 185lbs
40: 4.44
Bench: 396
Class: 2010 (High School)

On the Hoof: He would not be picked out of a lineup as the star safety. Hines is built more like a cornerback and does not posses alot of defined muscle. He does posses an athletic lower half and has very long arms for his size.
Needs Improvement: Needs to improve upper body strength and size since he is not the biggest safety. Hines needs to keep his feet and run through ball carriers while making tackles.
Most Impressive: Has very good ball skills and does a nice job reading run/pass. Hines may not be the biggest safety, but he is not afraid to unload with every inch of strength while tackling.
Conclusion: Could play a role on special teams as a freshman but will most likely redshirt while he gains needed muscle mass and strength. Hines projects as a two- to three-year starter that will make a name for himself.

ADAM KENNEDY DE 4* Plain Field, NJ

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati JRFERGUSON7_15150

Ht: 6'4"
Wt: 286lbs
40: 4.74
Bench: 414
Squat: 655
Class: 2010 (High School)

On the Hoof: He is very well-proportioned with thick legs and powerbase. Could tone up just a tad, but he is not overweight by any means. He looks like a young, giant defensive tackle.
Needs Improvement: He needs to hit the weight room, get stronger and improve his pad level at the point of attack.
Most Impressive: He has the footwork of much smaller linebacker. He is athletic enough to change directions and chase down ball carriers from behind. Gets great leg drive with a solid power base.
Conclusion: Playing at the high level of competition that he has seen at his high school will surely improve his chances of making an impact as a true freshman.

J.J. BROWN C 4* West Bloomfield, MI

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati JAYBARLOW6_16150

Ht: 6'4"
Wt: 275lbs
40: 5.12
Bench: 438
Squat: 605
Class: 2010 (High School)

On the Hoof: May be a tad shorter than his listed 6 feet 4, but he has a lean upper body, wide powerbase and very athletic legs for an offensive lineman.
Needs Improvement: Needs to add some upper body strength and size while improving his lateral movement a bit.
Most Impressive: He is a natural hip and knee bender that is not afraid to take on all comers. Brown is also a very versatile lineman, because he could play either guard position or center.
Conclusion: Proved at the Penn State Nike Camp that he has a chance to play early because he is tough and does a nice job versus bigger and thicker interior linemen. If he can come in at about 290 pounds, he may have a chance to make the two-deep as a freshman. Brown should be considered a big center and thus a hot commodity as a player.

JUSTIN PETTY 3* Garfield Heights, OH

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati RODERICKSMITH4_27150

Ht: 5'11"
Wt: 194lbs
40: 4.46
Bench: 378
Squat: 350
Class: 2010 (High School)

On the Hoof: Petty is a strong running back with a frame that can take a pounding and add weight. At 5 feet 11, Petty has good height and he is imposing both in his size and also in his muscle definition.
Needs improvement: Despite an impressive highlight film and elite testing numbers, Petty is yet to put up the production you would hope on a consistent basis. He is a downhill back and is capable of catching the ball but can improve his route-running out of the backfield.
Most impressive: Petty is a physical North-South runner that dishes out as much punishment with the ball in his hands as he takes. He runs extremely well and is as fast as any big back in the country. Athletically, Petty has all the makings of an elite back with speed, agility and strength. He has good leg drive after contact, muscles through tackles and can hit the hole with acceleration and burst.
Conclusion: If Petty can put to use all of the physical gifts that he has been blessed with, he has as much if not more upside than any back in the country. If he stays focused his college career has the potential to reflect that upside.

Joe Robinson DE 3* North Bergen, NJ

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati Cassius-marsh

Ht: 6'1"
Wt: 270lbs
40: 4.56
Bench: 438
Squat: 665

On the Hoof: Robinson has a well-proportioned body with large legs, powerbase and upper body. He has the frame that can play strongside defensive end or defensive tackle at the next level.
Needs Improvement: He is very raw, plays high at the point of attack and allows the offensive lineman to get to his body. Needs to work on getting off the snap of the ball quicker.
Most Impressive: He works his butt off while being super-competitive and coachable. He has the body and frame to play all four defensive line positions. When he combines all of the tools he has, he can flat-out take over a game.
Conclusion: His size and effort level alone will bring him early playing time. Robinson's versatility will also keep him on the field for every possible down and distance once he breaks the starting lineup. He has a potential to be a first-round draft pick. His body type only comes around once in a blue moon.

Commitments

Jayson Evans OLB 3* Hollywood, FL

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati 151027

Ht: 6'1"
Wt: 210lbs
40: 4.62
Bench: 420
Squat: 690
Class: 2010 (High School)

On the Hoof: Is built more like a safety than a linebacker at this point. Evans has a very athletic build and probably will not play over 225 pounds.
Needs Improvement: Evans will need to add at least 15 pounds of muscle mass in order to take on larger, more athletic blockers. He must improve his backpedal and overall coverage skills.
Most Impressive: He is a terror coming off the edge as a pass rusher and he does an incredible job of running laterally and stringing out plays run toward the boundary.
Conclusion: Smaller, quicker linebackers like Evans may be the key to stopping the spread offenses. Evans surely will have a role on special teams as a freshman and should begin to see meaningful playing time by his second season in college.

Drew Lewis CB 3* St Martinsville, LA

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati DEQUANMENZIE11_25150

Ht: 6'0"
Wt: 187lbs
40: 4.38
Bench: 235
Squat: 220
Class: 2010 (High School)

On the Hoof: Has good height for a corner at closer to 5 feet 11 with a slight build. He does have the frame to add some weight, but there is a limit to how big he can get.
Needs Improvement: Must improve strength in order to be effective in press coverage. Lewis also needs to work on staying lower in his backpedal to help with keeping his balance as he changes directions.
Most Impressive: He has excellent straight-line speed and can turn and run with almost anybody. He does a nice job breaking on the ball while in off-man coverage and has above-average ball skills.
Conclusion: As a corner, more than likely he will redshirt while learning the complexities of college football and gaining needed strength. Do not be surprised if Watkins ends up as a receiver; he is used to having the ball in his hands and making things happen.

Brian Richardson OT 3* Nevada, IA

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati OCBROWN4_14150

Ht: 6'4"
Wt: 344lbs
40: 4.82
Bench: 456
Squat: 665
Class: 2010 (HighSchool)

On the Hoof: A massive offensive lineman with a huge powerbase and a barrel-chested upper body. He is already big enough to compete at the next level.
Needs Improvement: Richardson needs to work on his overall athleticism, because he sometimes struggles versus fast outside pass rushers. He also needs to work on staying low while run blocking
Most Impressive: His mobility for his size is just incredible, and he has very good feet for a giant offensive lineman. He is so strong and big, it is almost an impossible task for defensive linemen to move him.
Conclusion: Physically big enough to compete right now, so he may see playing time early on depending on the depth chart. Do not be surprised if he is cross-trained as an right offensive tackle/offensive guard in order to get his size and strength on the field earlier. Robinson could become a real road grader as a run blocker before his career is over.

Lance Branch WR 3* Mulberry, FL

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati CHRISYOUNG7_10150

Ht: 6'1"
Wt: 188lbs
40: 4.5
Bench: 277
Squat: 340
Class: 2010 (High School)

On the Hoof: Has a very athletic frame with lots of lean, quick-twitch muscle and room to grow. He is every bit the height listed and will remind fans physically of Toney Clemons of Colorado.
Needs improvement: Branch needs to improve his ability to get off the line of scrimmage during tight man coverage. Branch also needs to work on becoming a complete receiver, which means blocking his butt off when called upon. He could also work on improving his overall speed which is lacking.
Most impressive: Branch is a very smooth route runner that has excellent body control and uses his hands to catch passes, not his body. He may not be a blazer, but he has a beautiful, long stride that will sneak up on defensive backs and use his height huge jump to gain a decisive advantage.
Conclusion: Branch should be red shirted as a freshman to give him an extra year to develop but ifhe work hard enough he should become a very good player at the positionb his junior year.

Leonard Peterson OT 4* Silver Lake, NC

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati TYRUSTHOMPSON09AC1150

Ht: 6'6"
Wt: 287lbs
40: -
Bench: -
Squat: -
Class: 2010 (High School)

On the Hoof: Has excellent height with long arms and a wide powerbase. Peterson has plenty of room to fill out and add weight and strength in the upper body. His frame will easily hold 320 pounds. Peterson should physically remind fans of Florida State offensive tackle Zebrie Sanders.
Needs improvement: Right now, he is a bit light in the pants and lacks pop. He must add some upper body strength and fill out. Peterson must become more physical while run blocking. Right now he relies on athleticism and finesse.
Most impressive: This potential giant has excellent lateral movement and looks like a basketball player playing defense. He also has tremendous growth potential and a long wing span which make him an ideal left offensive tackle at the next level.
Conclusion: Currently, he is very raw and is possibly two years away from any meaningful time at the next level. He does possess a lot of potential and natural ability and his long-term future is very bright. Look for him to be a two- to three-year starter with NFL potential.

Damon Fletcher OG 4* Greenville, AL

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati JUSTINMCCRAY5_1150

Ht: 6'6"
Wt: 299lbs
40: 5.24
Bench: 509
Squat: 610
Class: 2010 (High School)

On the Hoof: Fletcher has a huge frame with long arms and legs that may be the most athletic-looking of any offensive lineman in the country. He could easily play at 320 pounds.
Needs Improvement: Fletcher needs to stay healthy for a whole season and play with a nastier disposition.
Most Impressive: Has very good upper body strength and lower body strength. There is no doubt he can play all five offensive line positions because of his size and tremendous overall athleticism.
Conclusion: If healthy, Fletcher could be an offensive lineman that actually sees meaningful playing time as a freshman. He is athletic and has the size to compete at the next level right now. If he wants to be great at this game, he will be great.

Lionel Wallace OG 4* Wheeling, IL

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati Green_chaz_210x200

Ht: 6'5"
Wt: 295lbs
40: -
Bench: -
Squat: -
Class: 2010 (High School)

On the Hoof: Monster-looking kid with great upper body and well-proportioned lower body. He weighs 300 pounds and doesn't look it.
Needs Improvement: His school runs the ball a lot and he has not had the reps to be considered a proficient pass blocker at this time. Similar to other young linemen, he needs to be more consistent with pad level at the point of attack.
Most Impressive: He is more athletic than what most people think. Right now, he is a dominant run blocker and is one of the main reasons his teammate was the leading rusher in the state two years ago. Wallace is a tough nut that plays the game with a nasty attitude.
Conclusion: Unless there is an injury and he is needed because of his versatility, Lioneln will most likely redshirt. But don't let that fool you, because he should make a major impact at the next level and become a three-year starter with NFL potential.

Lester Evans DT 4* Ruston, LA

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati CYMAUGHMER2_11150

Ht: 6'0"
Wt: 322lbs
40: 5.20
Bench: 468
Squat: 645
Class: 2010 (High School)

On the Hoof: Evans has a short, stocky tree trunk type body that looks real hard to move with his natural leverage. He is a tad heavy in the midsection, and has a huge, wide powerbase that makes it hard for him to be knocked over. He is built a little like a young Casey Hampton of the Steelers.
Needs improvement: He needs to redistribute some bad bodyweight from his midsection. Evans must improve lateral movement and agility which will help him pursue plays from sideline to sideline. Working on getting off the double team and still wreak havoc in the run game is another area he could improve upon.
Most impressive: Plays with excellent natural leverage, which allows him to get underneath offensive linemen. He is very strong, especially his lower body which helps him with his leg drive. Hailes is also one of the few linemen that excels when the play is coming right at him. He is a space eater, which allows others teammates to make plays.
Conclusion: His size and strength will allow him to battle for playing time early on as long as he comes into camp in shape. He has the potential to be a very good college player, but his height may hurt long-term goals of playing football at the professional level.

Chris Smith OLB 4* Washington, DC

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati 720706

Ht: 6'4"
Wt: 244lbs
40: -
Bench: -
Squat: -
Class: 2010 (High School)

On the Hoof: Would be considered a huge linebacker with a massive upper body. His legs are athletic and lean like a basketball player. Has the frame of a pro linebacker.
Needs Improvement: If he ends up as a defensive end, he will need to work on lower pad level at the point of attack and add some muscle mass to his lower body. As a linebacker, more knee bend will help him explode into ball carriers.
Most Impressive: He covers a lot of ground for a huge linebacker, and he does a nice job of wrapping up while tackling. Smith is also a superior pass rusher and can wreak havoc in the backfield on a consistent basis.
Conclusion: Smith will probably end up with a red shirt his freshman year but could be a three year starter depending on team depth.

Scott Chambers ATH 4* Bowling Green, KY

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati 133052

Ht: 6'3"
Wt: 180lbs
40: -
Bench: -
Squat: -
Class: 2010 (High School)

On the Hoof: Has ideal height for a safety or wide receiver at the next level but has the speed to play corner aswell. He is a tad on the thin side but has the frame to hold another 20-25 pounds easily.
Needs Improvement: Will need to improve strength and muscular mass if he is to win jump balls and get off the jam as a receiver. As a defender, the added muscle mass will only increase the pain he puts on unsuspecting ball carriers.
Most Impressive: He may not look like it in person, but on film he looks and hits like an aggressive linebacker that happens to have serious ball skills and lateral pursuit. He also has the ability to come through in clutch games when the chips are down.
Conclusion: Will most likely make his impact on the defensive side of the ball.

Chris Freeman QB 5* Bloomfield, MI

Ht: 6'0"
Wt: 203lbs
40: 4.78
Bench: 324
Squat: 255
Class: 2011 (High School)

On the Hoof: No one would guess looking at Freeman in street clothes that he is the premier quarterbacks in the country. He is a bit shorter than you would like with an average build.
Needs Improvement: Freeman needs to continue to improve his overall body structure and strength. He also should look to improve his foot quickness and depth on drops. His grip on the ball makes the ball come out with serious downward action, so an adjustment may be needed in this area.
Most Impressive: He is probably not great at any one thing right now, but he is very good in every aspect of the quarterback position. Heaps has above-average arm strength, accuracy and loves to compete as demonstrated by all the camps he attended this past year.
Conclusion: Will most likely redshirt as he learns the new playbook. Do expect him to put up some gaudy numbers as a three-year starter at the next level. He already plays in a pass-happy offense and understands how to distribute the ball all over the field.

Chris Harris HB 4* Air Force Acad, CO

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati CAMERONROBERSON5_5150

Ht: 9'10"
Wt: 207lbs
40: 4.36
Bench: 235
Squat: 250
Class: 2011 (High School)

On the Hoof: Deceptively thicker and more muscular than what most people think. Possesses unbelievable speed and explosion and is durable enough to take the punishment of 20-25 carries a game. Has good siza at over 2000 pounds
Needs Improvement: He needs to understand the importance of running precise routes, and stay focused as a pass receiver out of the backfield. Harris has the tendency to drop easy passes, yet make tough catches.
Most Impressive: One of the quickest and fastest backs in the entire country. He can change directions on a dime, or just flat out outrun everybody to the house.
Conclusion: Has a chance to be the next Reggie Bush in college if he improves his pass receiving and proves durable enough touching the ball at least 20 times a game in his senior season.

Brian Flanagan OLB 4* Moline, IL

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati TRAYVONHENRY5_14150

Ht: 6'3"
Wt: 214
40: 4.52
Bench: 420
Weight: 690
Class: 2011 (High School)

On the Hoof: Flanagan has a good linebacker frame with long arms and a lot of room to grow. He is proportionately put together with an athletic lower body and a sturdy upper body. He will add a lot of weight in college and continue to fill out and get stronger. Looks similar in build to Oklahoma sophmore Ronnell Lewis.
Needs improvement: Flanagan is a good athlete that changes directions well, but if he were to play lower he could be even more explosive and sudden with his movements. Is an arm tackler and needs to get better at exploding through the ball carrier and making plays chest to chest.
Most impressive: Runs extremely well sideline to sideline. He rushes the passer off of the edge with aggression and uses his long arms to disrupt passing lanes. Flanagan uses his hands well to shed blocks, particularly as a pass rusher. Once he gets a hold of a ball carrier, he rarely loses control and is able to whip them to the ground. Is willing and capable of pursuing the ball downfield with speed and effort. Closes well in the run game.
Conclusion: Flanagan is a raw linebacker right now. He needs to clean up his game and get more physical but his athleticism and body are both elite. As he fills out and develops as a football player, he has the opportunity to be a major impact player in the BCS and an all-conference type player by the end of his career.

Andy Wright MLB 4* Chicago, IL

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati Recruit_akuna_300

Ht: 6'2"
Wt: 242lbs
40: 4.54
Bench: 456
Squat: 620
Class: 2011 (High School)

On the Hoof: Has a very muscular build and powerful frame. He has broad shoulders and average-length arms for his size. His legs are thick and powerful. He is another "tweener" as a defensive end/linebacker hybrid.
Needs improvement: As a linebacker, he needs to work on moving in space and tackling in the open field. He must improve hip flexibility in order to flip and run with backs running routes.
Most impressive: He is very strong and explosive of the ball. He is an excellent pass rusher, so he should be tremendous when blitzes are called. This kid will pursue ball carriers all over the field with a motor that never stops.
Conclusion: He should become an instant impact as either a linebacker or defensive end. This kid will do what it takes in the gym and the film room to be the best. Wright also possesses the ability for long-term success on the football field.

Ht: 6'4"
Wt: 304
40: 4.98
Bench: 432
Squat: 655
Class: 2011 (High School)

On the Hoof: Physically one of the biggest offensive linemen of the class. Upper and lower body structure is in proportion and he has the powerful base to blow anyone off the line of scrimmage.
Needs Improvement: He could improve his flexibility, which in turn will increase the quickness and power coming out of his three-point stance. He could also play with more attitude and a meaner disposition.
Most Impressive: Other than his massive body size, Carter is extremely nimble and agile on his feet, especially laterally. He gets that from playing basketball when he's not training for football. Carter also has great hand placement during pass protection, thus being able to direct the pass rusher outside the pocket.
Conclusion: Carter has offers from almost every college in the country, and once he starts year-round focus on football, he should develop into a first-round draft pick.

Other News

The #1 strong saftey in the country Willie Maddox who verbally commited to the Universuty of Cincinnati two weeks ago has now changed his mind and has commited to Florida. This is a huge blow for Cincinnati as Maddox is thought to be one of the best prospects in the class and a certain three year starter.

Ross Perry WR 4* Lansdale, PA

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati Small_JEREMYRICHARDSON10_7200

Ht: 6'3"
Wt: 196lbs
40: 4.44
Bench: 235
Squat: 325
Class: 2011 (High School)

On the Hoof: Has good height, long arms and a very lean yet well-put-together overall body structure.
Needs Improvement: Needs to use his hands more and catch the ball at its highest point. Perry also could add more strength, which should help him break tackles at the next level. Keeping focused and involved through the whole game and improving his run blocking are two other areas he needs to improve.
Most Impressive: Pery does a nice job of using his body to shield of defenders from the ball. Has the combination of size and speed that will allow him to play slot or wide receiver at the next level.
Conclusion: Wide receiver is possibly the easiest position to learn and get playing time early. If Perry comes to camp in football shape and is willing to give 110 percent during practice and position meetings, he could see some playing time as a freshman. He is still very raw and most likely will not get into the two deep until his second year on campus.

Anthony Coker 4* ATH Halifax, CN

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati TRAVONVAN6_18150

Ht: 5'11"
Wt: 192lbs
40: 4.38
Bench: 241
Squat: 320
Class: 2011 (High School)

On the Hoof: A small, well-put-together kid that has long arms with plenty of room to weight. He also has the ideal build for a tall, athletic reciever and looks a lot like Ohio State's Dominic Clarke.
Needs Improvement: He has a tendency to always play the ball and sometimes he will give up too many big plays. On Offense needs to work on his route running
Most Impressive: His ability to cover a lot of ground once the ball is in the air is outstanding. Coker can be an instant offensive threat because of his breakaway speed and ball skills.
Conclusion: Could make an early impact as a return man either on punts or kick returns. Because of his athleticism and ball skills, he may see early time reciever.

Tremayne Wheeler 4* WR Bay Shore, NY

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati PAULRICHARDSON6_2150

Ht: 6'2"
Wt: 177lbs
40: 4.52
Bench: 271
Squat: 345
Class: 2011 (High School)

On the Hoof: Wide, thick-shouldered and a thin waist similar to Terrell Owens. Wheeler has really big hands and lean legs that could use some additional muscle mass. He has the body to take punishment over the middle.
Needs Improvement: He needs to work on initial speed off the line of scrimmage, which should help him create separation quicker.
Most Impressive: Excellent route runner with hands like a Venus flytrap. Wheeler does a nice job of using his body to shield off defenders.
Conclusion: His hands and route running almost assures him playing time as a freshman. If he does improve on his speed, he could eventually become an All-American.

Mike Rutledge 4* FS/LB Watsonville, CA

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati 588551

Ht: 6'2"
Wt: 212lbs
40: 4.48
Bench: 372
Squat: 355
Class: 2011 (High School)

On the Hoof: Rutledge has wide shoulders and long arms with a narrow waist with athletic legs. It is not just his game, but also his frame that remind most people of Carolina Panther Thomas Davis.
Needs Improvement: He will need to improve pass coverage skills in order to play safety at the next level. Rutledge is a tad stiff in the hips and a bit slow coming out of his backpedal.
Most Impressive: He comes up in run support maybe better than anybody else in the nation, wiping out anything out in his path. Rutledge also seems to have a knack for either making a key tackle or block on special teams.
Conclusion: His affinity for being a special teams monster alone will make it hard for a coaching staff to keep him off the field. Don't be surprised if he ends up playing both safety and linebacker at the next level. His physicality will force coaches to get him on the field in some capacity sooner than later.

Jon Harris 4* FS Mission Viejo, CA

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati ALECOGLETREE4_28150

Ht: 6'1"
Wt: 177lbs
40: 4.44
Bench: 366
Squat: 385
Class: 2011 (High School)

On the Hoof: Looks a bit thin to be a safety and won't wow you in street clothes. Harris will remind fans of a taller Bob Sanders of the Indianapolis Colts.
Needs improvement: Will he have the same impact as a tackler and run-stopper playing against bigger players at the next level? Harris will have to improve overall strength and conditioning to be that run-supporting, hard-hitting safety in college. He also needs to improve his backpedal and overall cover skills, because he will be facing a lot of three- and four-wide situations.
Most impressive: He is a ferocious hitter that is looking to smash the ball carrier right in the mouth. Harris also has a knack for coming up with turnovers and changing the complexion of the game in an instant.
Conclusion: Should become a stalwart on coverage teams early and throughout his collegiate career. He has the heart of a lion and if his size does not deter his ability to smack heads, he could become a serious heat-seeking missile that leaves opponents limping to the sideline.

Maurice Parker 4* OLB Hopkins, MN

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati TRAVISWILLIAMS7_7150

Ht: 6'1"
Wt: 211lbs
40: 4.62
Bench: 384
Squat: 670
Class: 2011 (High School)

On the Hoof: Is built more like a safety than a linebacker at this point. Parker has a very athletic build and probably will not play over 225 pounds.
Needs Improvement: Parker will need to add at least 15 pounds of muscle mass in order to take on larger, more athletic blockers. He must improve his backpedal and overall coverage skills.
Most Impressive: He is a terror coming off the edge as a pass rusher and he does an incredible job of running laterally and stringing out plays run toward the boundary.
Conclusion: Smaller, quicker linebackers like Parker may be the key to stopping the spread offenses of the Big East. Parker surely will have a role on special teams as a freshman and should begin to see meaningful playing time by his second season in college.

James Madsen 5* WR Grosse Ile, MI

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati 6a00d8341bf70753ef01156fab565b970b-800wi

Ht: 6'1"
Wt: 166lbs
40: 4.38
Bench: 241
Squat: 325
Class: 2011 (High School)

On the Hoof: A very lean, long-limbed body structure.
Needs Improvement: Will need to add some size and strength to combat man coverage at the next level. This added size can also help with shielding defenders off the ball and with durability.
Most Impressive: Has excellent speed, catches the ball away from his body and can leap out of the building. Madsen is a very smooth runner with the ball in his hands and he can make people miss.
Conclusion: Has the size of an inside receiver but the speed to become a serious vertical threat. Don't be surprised if he gets a shot at kickoff returns. If Madsen proves he can run sharp, crisp routes, he will most likely play as a freshman. Expect him to score a lot of touchdowns in his college career.

Jason Jenkins 4* TE Zapata, TX

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati KENADAMS7_3150

Ht: 6'6"
Wt: 260lbs
40: 4.54
Bench: 396
Squat: 365
Class: 2011 (High School)

On the Hoof: Huge, hulking tight end with a lean, yet muscular upper body and a lower half of an athletic offensive lineman. From the waist down, he just looks like someone that can push defensive ends and linebackers around.
Needs Improvement: Needs to watch how big his lower half gets or he may become an athletic offensive tackle. Also needs to improve overall speed and route running.
Most Impressive: His size makes him a mismatch for any linebacker or safety at the next level. Jenkins also possesses soft hands for a giant. He didn't get a chance to catch a ton of balls as a junior, but that will changed in 2010.
Conclusion: Like linebackers, tight ends make up a huge portion of all special teams and he should get a chance here and earn some playing time in mop-up duty as a freshman. Expect by his sophomore season that he will be either in the playing rotation or the tight end used most on running plays.

Donnell Davis 4* QB Portage, MI

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati MURDENWT150_051208

Ht: 6'3"
Wt: 217lbs
40: 4.48
Bench: 235
Squat: 395
Class: 2011 (High School)

On the Hoof: Has excellent height, long arms and an athletic, basketball-player build. He could easily end up playing at 230 pounds and still keep his impressive athleticism.
Needs Improvement: Needs to work on touch and getting air under his fade passes. Davis also needs to improve his depth on drops which should improve timing and accuracy.
Most Impressive: Possibly one of the most athletic quarterbacks to have come out of high school in the last decade and could easily play a number of positions at the next level. Also possesses possibly the strongest arm in the country and can throw laser shots from anywhere on the field.
Conclusion: A very hard-working, intelligent player that if given the opportunity to redshirt and learn the offensive system, could really flourish and develop into a defensive coordinator's worst nightmare. Expect big things to happen for Davis down the road, including one day getting the opportunity to play at the highest level.

Wt: 372 lbs
40: 5.08
Bench: 462
Squat: 680
Class: 2012 (High School)

On the Hoof: A massive offensive lineman with a huge powerbase and a barrel-chested upper body. He is already big enough to compete at the next level.
Needs Improvement: Stephens needs to work on his overall athleticism, and placement of his hands inpass blocking . He also needs to work on staying low while run blocking
Most Impressive: His mobility for his size is just incredible, and he has pretty good feet for a giant offensive lineman which allows him to excel in run blocking and get to the second level.
Stephens could become a real road grader as a run blocker before his career is over.

John McNeal 4* HB Hangover, NH

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati JORDONJAMES11_19150

Ht: 6'0"
Wt: 190lbs
40: 4.46
Bench: 330
Squat: 360
Class: 2012 (High School)

On the Hoof: May actually be a little shorter than 6 foot, but he has tremendous overall body structure with the ability to add at least another 15 pounds of muscle mass.
Needs Improvement: He does not back down from contact or running the ball between the tackles, so adding muscle mass should help with durability and his ability to break tackles. McNeal also need to improve on his pass catching.
Most Impressive: Has very good speed and a beautiful, long stride once he hits the open field. McNeal also has natural forward body lean and seems to gain that extra yard after contact.
Conclusion: Right now he may not be an every-down back at the next level because of his size and running style. Once he adds weight, he could become a real threat to score at any point on the field because of his homerun speed. He could easily see time as a freshman if he proves to have adequate hands and the ability to pick up blitzing linebackers in pass protection.

Mike Bailey 4* TE Burlington, NC

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati CJ

Ht: 6'7"
Wt: 217lbs
40: 4.56
Bench: 390
Squat: 340
Class: 2012 (High School)

On the Hoof: Very tall, lanky athlete with excellent height and long arms. Bailey actually looks like a giant receiver. He should remind people of a slimmer Kyle Rudolph of Notre Dame.
Needs improvement: Bailey needs to work on becoming a well-rounded tight end. Currently, he is more interested in being a receiver, so improving physicality at the point of attack is a must. Also needs to pay more attention to run blocking as that is an important part of playing Tight End.
Most impressive: Bailey is a giant target that will be a mismatch for defensive backs and linebackers to cover. He also has very soft hands for a jumbo athlete and is a threat to gain yards after the catch using a long, smooth stride to run by defenders.
Conclusion: There is no doubt that he will have an impact as a freshman. He may not start off as the No. 1 tight end, but he will be worked into specific passing situations right away, especially in the red zone. If Bailey ends up being able to block on running plays with consistency, he is a sure-fire NFL player.

Sam Ramirez 3* G St. Johns, MI

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati 660341

Ht: 6'3"
Wt: 291lbs
40: 5.10
Bench: 462
Squat: 620
Class: 2012 (High School)

On the Hoof: Strong Lineman with good technique in both run and pass blocking. Ramirez also has a great base with very thick legs.
Needs Improvement: Ramirez is not particularly quick which for a linemanis really saying something. He also needs to become more flexible at the knees and hips which will allow him to get lower at pad level.
Most Impressive: He is a very versitile player that does not excel at any one thing but is good at everything. Ramirez also has a bit of a mean streak and likes to intimidate his oppenents.
Conclusion: Has the size and toughness to make the two-deep as a true freshman depending how he improves during camp. He has a chance to become an all-league performer before his career is over.

Phil Weeks 5* DE Walker, MI

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati BLAKELUEDERS4_27150

Ht: 6'5"
Wt: 245lbs
40: 4.54
Bench: 426
Squat: 665
Class: 2012 (High School)

On the Hoof: Weeks has a well-proportioned body with large legs, powerbase and upper body. He has the frame that can play strongside defensive end or defensive tackle at the next level.
Needs Improvement: This kid is a complete football player but if you were going to nit pick the only thing he needs to work on would be getting off the snap of the ball quicker.
Most Impressive: Weeks is a monster and will shed blocks like a hot knife through butter. He also has tremendous speed and athleticism and has no trouble catching plays from behind.
Conclusion: His size and effort level alone will bring him early playing time. Weeks versatility will also keep him on the field for every possible down and distance once he breaks the starting lineup. He has a potential to be a first-round draft pick. His body type only comes around once in a blue moon.

Other News

The University of Cincinnati currently has the top ranked recruiting class in the nation. Although it is early days the signs look good for Coach Clevmire1 to bring in another top 5 recruiting class.

Ht: 6'1"
Wt: 160 lbs
40: 4.44
Bench: 271
Squat: 320
Class: 2012 (High School)

On the Hoof: Has good height but is very lean, yet well-proportioned. Warren may be able to reach 185 pounds before all is said and done.
Needs Improvement: Adding size and strength will be a key for getting off man coverage and winning jump balls. Warren is very quick but has a tendency to dance too much which will not work at the next level.
Most Impressive: He possesses excellent ball skills and body control. Warren also has a beautiful, long stride that looks effortless, and he is quick enough to leave defenders in the dust after the catch.
Conclusion: His hands and change of direction will most likely get him looks as a punt returner as a freshman. He may also get a shot playing receiver early on because it is probably the easiest position to learn on the football field. If he stays focused on being great, he could become a difference maker.

CHAZ ATKINS 4* OG Newark, CA

Class: 2012 (High School)

On the Hoof: Has wide shoulders and long arms on a well-proportioned frame that can hold at least another 10-20 pounds.
Needs Improvement: Needs to work on his quickness as his feet sometimes look to be set in stone.
Most Impressive: He is one of the toughest and meanest linemen in the country. He thinks nothing of using his hands as battering rams and smashing any spot on the opponent's body.
Conclusion: Linemen generally take longer to develop, but expect to see Atkins with meaningful playing time by his second fall.

On the Hoof: He is probably a tad shorter than his listed 6-3 with lean muscle structure. Physically he is built like a slightly thicker Russell Shephard.
Needs Improvement: He needs to continue to physically develop, and work on squaring his shoulders up and planting his back foot while throwing on the run. Grant needs to improve his accuracy on deep balls.
Most Impressive: He is very mobile for a pro-style quarterback and can buy the extra time in the pocket to extend plays as defenses break down. He also has serious zip and accuracy on his intermediate passes.
Conclusion: A definite redshirt will be in store for him allowing him physically mature. I would not expect him to get any meaningful playing time until his third year in a program.

WILL WILSON 4* C Troy, OH

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati JUSTINCORRALES150

Ht: 6'1"
Wt: 285lbs
40: 5.04
Bench: 420
Squat:640
Class: 2013 (High School)

On the Hoof: Has a lean upper body, wide powerbase and very athletic legs for an offensive lineman.
Needs Improvement: Needs to add some upper body strength and size while improving his lateral movement a bit.
Most Impressive: Wilson has great awareness and a nasty mean streak which makes him a great run blocker.
Conclusion: Wilson has a chance to play early because he is tough and does a nice job versus bigger and thicker interior linemen. If he can come in at about 290 pounds, he may have a chance to make the two-deep as a freshman.

JOHN HALL 5* DT Kennesaw, GA (#1 Recriut in the nation)

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati IVANROBINSON11_23150

Ht: 6'1"
Wt: 283lbs
40: 4.72
Bench: 450
Squat: 640
Class: 2013 (High School)

On the Hoof: Looks bigger than his listed measurements, has a good powerbase and a huge, thick trunk. He is big enough to contribute right now.
Needs Improvement: Needs to reshape some of his upper body weight, which should improve quickness even further and add strength. Hall will also need to work on technique and not rely solely on size and quickness to win one-on-one battles.
Most Impressive: He is very explosive off the snap of the ball and when matched up one on one with an interior lineman he will slice past them with ease. Hall is also very versitile and can line up at either end position as well as tackle which should improve his chances of early playing time.
Conclusion: Bible has the size and athleticism to play early, but the defensive tackle position is very grueling and physically demanding. so he will need to prove he has the stamina to handle that.

ROB SCHMIDT 5* MLB San Francisco, CA

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati BRYANMURPHY12_11150

Ht: 6'0"
Wt: 216lbs
40: 4.70
Bench: 468
Squat: 705
Class: 2013 (High School)

On the Hoof: He is a slightly undersized linebacker but with a lot of lean muscle mass and strength. He is "tweener" between a safety and outside linebacker in size.
Needs improvement: He must improve lateral quickness, because he is a bit stiff and changing directions could be a liability as a defender. Schmidt must be more of a force at the point of attack because he can get swallowed up.
Most impressive: His tackling technique is incredible, as he sinks his hips and lifts with both arms, disabling the ball carrier every time. He also has great instincts and is excellent in coverage.
Conclusion: Schmidt will have an instant impact and may even start depending on the teams depth. This kid will do what it takes in the gym and the film room to be the best. Schmidt also possesses the ability for long-term success on the football field.

DAN HUMPHREY 5* HB Arden-Arcade, CA

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati MARCUSLATTIMORE12_7150

Ht: 5'11"
Wt: 199lbs
40: 4.38
Bench: 378
Squat: 345
Class: 2013 (High School)

On the Hoof: Has a smaller, lean upper body, but his lower half is much more developed and ready to take the punishment of college football. Right now he is built more like a smaller slot receiver or defensive back.
Needs Improvement: Will need to add serious upper body muscle mass if he is going to touch the ball more than 10 times a game early in his career. Will also need to work on his hand if he wants to get the ball more on third down.
Most Impressive: Possesses excellent speed and change of direction, causing defenders to snap off at the ankles trying to tackle him.
Conclusion: Most likely a red-shirt candidate unless he physically matures. Regardless, Humphrey should make a dangerous return man. Few people are as electric with the ball in their hands as Humphrey is.

TYREE BRATTON 4* OLB Hammond, LA

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati TYRONECORNEILEUS1_4150

Ht: 6'2"
Wt: 220lbs
40: 4.56
Bench: 402
Squat: 630
Class: 2013 (High School)

On the Hoof: Bratton is a long, lean linebacker with excellent overall body structure and muscle tone. Should be able to play at 235 pounds and keep his exceptional downhill pursuit.
Needs Improvement: Has to improve his tackling technique at the next level otherwise to many of his tackles will get broken by bigger backs.
Most Impressive: May be the best pass-rushing linebacker in the country. Bratton is incredible at coming of the edge and chasing plays down from behind.
Conclusion: All fast, athletic linebackers get a chance to prove themselves on coverage teams first. He may also see time early on third-and-long plays as an extra rusher from the outside.

CLAUDE BURGESS 4* SS/LB Lindon, NJ

GoBEARCATS.com - Official Athletics Website of the University of Cincinnati EDDRICKLOFTEN6_13150

Ht: 6'1"
Wt: 207lbs
40: 4.42
Bench: 384
Squat: 400
Class: 2013 (High School)

On the Hoof: Burgess is built more like a thick safety than a college linebacker at this time. He has an excellent frame to add size on.
Needs Improvement: As an outside linebacker, he will need to add 20 to 25 pounds for taking on blockers in run support. If he is switched to safety, he will need to get more experience with coming out of his backpedal and breaking on the ball.
Most Impressive: Has tremendous football speed and may be the best tackler in this class behind. Also Burgess has the dimension of possessing ball skills, which makes him doubly dangerous as a threat to turn the tides of a game on one play.
Conclusion: Burgess is a very versatile athlete that should play a major role as a special teams' demon. Has the potential to play either safety or outside linebacker and a lot of that will be determined by the depth chart and his ability to find which position he will excel at in college.

Other News

After recieving commitments from four of the best players in the nation at their respective positions in Rob Schmidt, Dan Humphrey, Tyree Bratton and Claude Burgess the University of Cincinnati's 2013 recruit class is now ranked at #1 in the nation and is looking comparable to one of the best class in the last 10 YEARS (MACC. LOL).
