PostSubject: Re: 2012 Week 9 Discussion   2012 Week 9 Discussion EmptyTue 09 Feb 2010, 12:23 pm

haha great point 9s....

The Maryland Terrapins perfect season continued during their Thursday night game at Byrd Staidum against previously unbeaten and number 6 ranked Seminoles of Florida State. The Terps improved to 7-0 with their 28-14 victory over the ACC foe in front of a sold out and rocking home crowd. The win did come at a cost however, as the Terps lose their number 1 wide receiver Kerry Boykins for at least 3 weeks due to a concussion.

The Terps totaled 311 yards, 186 on the ground and 125 through the air. They were led by heisman hopeful Caleb Porzel who knew he had to step up after number 1 wide out and the teams emotional leader Kerry Boykins went down. "I knew I just had to step up and do what I do you know, whether that be return a kick, catch a pass, or tote the rock, thats just what I do. And when my boy Kerry went down I told coach Hick I got this." Porzel finished the day with 22 carries for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Porzel also had an electrifying 104 yard kick return on the following kickoff after FSU had took the lead 7-3. FSU chose not to let him touch a kickoff after this. QB Danny O'Brien went 10 for 15 for 125 yards and no touchdowns, however he did compete a pass to his tight end on a critical two point conversion play to make it a 14 point game.

Defensively the Terps played a solid game. They were led by A. Little with 9 total tackles on the day. According to coach Hickerson however, the defensie mvp on the day was true freshman Jared Golden. "Jared grew up today in my eyes, the stats dont jump out at you. but he was in or around almost every play, and emotionally, you dont see what he did that much coming from a freshman.... he showed he is going to be one of those special guys out there tonight.

Next week number 15 ranked and twice beaten Georgia Tech will come into Byrd Stadium to try and kill the Terps rally before the road trip to Chapel Hill, NC where the Terps will square off with unbeaten and number 1 ranked North Carolina. When asked if he was looking forward to a rematch with last years ACC champion, coach Hickerson responded with big grin," we are taking this one game at a time, I hope our players are too dumb to even realize we play North Carolina the week after this."

Florida takes down Auburn in the swamp 42-32!

The game was pretty low scoring early...but then mo took over and Florida was unstopable...pressure on QB ball flutting in air falls into Gator WR hands...busted coverage, and twice Florida WR were wide open, not sure were my DB were...not sure how you other are able to rush for big yars...I have a 98 rated RB, and my rushing stats were 17 carries for minus 19 yards...only play open was deep crossing routes...I can tell you playing two weeks in a row vs SEC D rated A+ across the board is a huge challenge....cut the lead to 35-32 with a min. left in the game...my onside kick was no good...and with ease Florida ran it right up the gut on 3 plays for a game winning TD...

side note: ? how do you guys run for such big yards...I never run wildcat or options pitch...is that how you get big yards on the ground?

listen "mate". the resaon things get changed are because obviously the things i write (no matter who much u and macc whinge about me having an opinion) the majority agree with. as macc said at the start of the dyn he and the rest of us have no problem with players having good games but it is when they are having 200 yard games every single week that not just myself but OBVIOUSLY everyone else also has a problem with........

also about what u wrote on the new sliders post about J.R Bishop. i never said u control him i only used him as an example cause macc was trying to call me out on joe robinsons stats.

i run half back stretch and read my te block my running back is good enough to break a tackle and fast enough to run past the secondary i might run speed option 3 to 4 times a game other than that its handing the ball of and reading blocks

i apprciate the insight on the hb stretch, it's in my playbook and will try it out...in regards to the 3/4 times you run speed option what would you say is your avg yard per carry?...again i apprciate you honest.

In fairness to me I'm NOWHERE NEAR the top in offensive stats. I'm in the middle of the pack with a struggling pass O this year so I'm going with what I'm most comfortable with - running. I've used my back ups everytime things are getting out of hand and my starter only when BUILDING my lead.

Coach Macc & Co. Get It In Ohio

This week the Rebels coaching staff invaded the state of Ohio once again and inked commitments from the second and fifth ranked players, OLB Brad Barr and DE Roshawn Hicks. The Rebels also signed a beast of a Offensive Guard in William Fields. There's no one even CLOSE in terms of all around, well put together offensive linemen in the nation this year. Fields blocking ability makes him a prime candidate for some playing time next season. Brad Barr will be a redshirt as he's a junior college transfer and he'll need to improve his marks but he'll run with any tight end, always make the tackle and in some recent camps he's shown to be very durable and consistent. Very athletic OLB and a perfect addition for an older Rebels linebacking corps. Roshawn Hicks will help them immediately in run defence off the edge. He can run for a bigger D Lineman and he won't be blocked when he feels like making a play.

macc i think u and probably goat are the last dudes that need to explain any stats u have. it just seems like k is having a bit of a whinge about me and was using u and kooken as examples.

Bearcats Crush Orange, 65-3

2012 Week 9 Discussion 991a0015
(Linebacker Jayson Evans about to lay out Syracuse quarterback Nassib)

Cincinnati, OH-- The University of Cincinnati Bearcats have improved their record to 8-0 (4-0) after a convincing win over conference rivals Syracuse today at Nippert Stadium.

Cincinnati's Defense dominated the entire game allowing only 141 yards off ofense the entire game. The Bearcats defense was so dominant they outscore the entire Syracuse team 20-3, including a saftey, two interception returns and a fumble recovery for six. Senior corner Cameron Cheatham was out standing as he returned the two interceptions for 87 and 54 yards respectively (see below for replays).

The Bercats offense barely had to break a sweat all day as their defence and special teams made sure they started off in great field position on the rare occassion they didn't score themselves. Despite the continual short fields Cincinnati's three headed rushing attack of Donnell Davis (13-19 207 pass yards 56 rush yards and 4 total TD's), Darrin Williams (13 carries 61 yards and a TD) and Justin Petty (12 carries 81 yards) still managed to put up some pretty respectable numbers on the day.

Cincinnati has a bye next week.

Illinos 45 Minnesota 00

True Freshman QB Mike Graves steps in for the first time this season when QB Nathan Scheelhaase went down with a injury. After X-Rays the team doctor informed Coach Kelly that his starting QB had 3 broken ribs. " From that moment i knew we were going to have to make it work for Mike. We didnt expect him to play at all this season but when Jacob Charest the 2nd QB went down last week we knew we had to get Mike ready just in case." Said coach Kelly. On his very first play from scrimmage the freshman QB stepped back and threw a slant that was inttend for Jamie Ivey but was picked off by Minnesota defense. " Jamie and I were not on the same page on my first play but we went back to the sidelines and fixed the issue and were ready to go back out there" Said Graves. On the first play of the next possession Grave launched a deep ball and connected with Cordale Scott for a 41 yard gain. From that moment on it looked as if the freshman never looked back. His final stats were 17 for 25 for 331 Yards 4 TDs and 2 INTS. " I am very pleased with the way he carried himself out there. he played with alot of heart and determination." Said Coach Kelly.

The Fighting Illini are on the way to Iowa next week to Face the #5 Iowa Hawkeyes. The Fighing Illini wont have Starting RB Justin Green or QB Nathan Scheelhaase. "The Hawkeyes are a tough team and we have alot of respect from them. This game will probably determine the Big10 Championship. Im sure Coach Kelly will have us staying late this week to watch film because i know they are doing the same over at Iowa. Said WR Cordale Scott"

When have I said that besides my TE, seriously. And watch how I use my TE he'll win the Mackey at least twice and you'll be swallowing those words. You're just a faggot man - if you haven't realized NOBODY agrees with your opinions despite your belief infact I'm pretty sure everyone thinks you're a fag. You've gone past the point of annoying. You're worse than Brady at least on the forums now. I don't even get frustrated I just wonder if you're okay now. You sore, socially innapropriate fuck.
