| New Coach Hire Brings Buzz to Columbus!!!
COLUMBUS-- Everyone in Columbus knew Jim Tressel would retire eventually, what they didn't know is under what circumstances.
Coming off a 6-7 season, and dropping out of the Top 25 for the first time in years, it was a bitter sweet ending to a truly incredible era that would push the accomplishments of Woody Hayes in his hay day.
But now a new breed of football is on the horizon. As Coach Phillips comes over from a very successful TCU squad that dominated the Big 12 the last four years. This hire has people in Ohio buzzing as they are chomping at the bit to get back where they belong, the pinnacle of College Football.
Coach Phillips will bring a Big 10 style offense with hard nosed running, and an athletic QB that can make plays. What Phillips brings that will be a surprise to the alumni is a defense that was implemented at TCU with much success, the 4-2-5 "aka..the NEW Silverbullets" as Coach Phillips has already made it know that they will fly around and make plays.
As you can see, people in Ohio are buzzing, and the media is going bonkers about this new hire. Can a young mid-20's coach take over a football team that has seen so much success in the last decade? We shall see...
