| Is Jack Elway Transferring to Stanford?
BREAKING NEWS ESPN.com news services
As we reported on April 7,
Jack Elway had decided to leave the Arizona State Football team. Jack Elway, son of Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway,
had decided to leave the Arizona State football team. Elway, a redshirt freshman quarterback, will remain at Arizona State as a student, however.
"He's just tired of football and wants to do something else with his life," Sun Devils coach Dennis Erickson said
Monday, according to The Arizona Republic. "He made a decision, and we all understand it. He would have played here eventually."
Elway, who was in a five-way battle for the starting quarterback job this past fall, was considered to be behind senior Danny
Sullivan and redshirt sophomore Samson Szakacsy on the depth chart, with sophomore Chasen Stangel and freshman Brock Osweiler also in the mix.
"He would have played here eventually," Erickson said.

It's has now been discovered that Elway will be leaving the University and possible transferring to Stanford University, where his father was a Star quarterback.
All call's to Stanford Coach Jim Harbaugh have not been returned. Is there a chance that Elway is interested in getting back on the football field?
We were able to confirm with his former coach, Dennis Erickson that he indeed has left school and was looking at other options. He didn't know if that meant
he was looking at Stanford, but did say, "What ever Jack and his family decide is fine, we just want the Elway family to be happy."
Rumors were swirling that Jack and his father were on campus and meeting with adviser's by an unnamed source within the athletic department. More will be known once Winter term is over school starts back up in January. | |
