Georgia Stuns Notre Dame on the road 41-7 and quiets #9 ranked crowdQB Lamar Herron would be on fire today and lead his Georgia Bulldogs to a very decisive 41-7 victory over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, on their own turf. This marks the second straight week Lamar Herron has stepped up and shown to be the player Coach Macc was so insistent could be a game breaker early in his career. Although it's taken a few years and many mistakes for Lamar to get comfortable with the UGA system, he's actually changed the face of the team and coaches admit they've become more comfortable letting him call audibles, especially into passing plays.
"When we recruited him, we thought he'd be the next Vince Young. His fresh and soph year there was very little running ability despite athleticism being argueably his strongest facet of his game. This year, he's had no problem or issue taking off and you can tell by the 56 yard rushing preformance today, that's exactly what we want and need from him - if plays break down, take off and run," Macc said.
Herron found Julian Moss in the endzone on his very first throw of the game after a FS Jake Jackson 85+ yard kick return to open the game. Moss appeared to have both feet inbounds but the refs called it no reception at first. After booth review the touchdown was actually awarded and Herron account for his first of five on the day.
Jake Jackson was the teams best defensive player, recording four tackles on the day but having two very important interceptions in or around his defended endzone.
