| iowa wins big 47-0 posting up its first shut out of the season... "this defense is the best defense i have had since i can remember" states Cokan. Macc hill after sitting out last season due to injuries came back a healthy freak of nature putting up 169 yds on the ground with a ton of broken tackles. Brink last years all american was a little upset only getting 12 carries for 65 yards but coach cokan explained that he is a force to be reckoned with in future games. The hawkeyes play their rival iowa state next week which wont be very exciting.... but the week after Iowa travels to Norman,Oklahoma to teach that rookie head coach a lesson | |

| The #7 Oregon State Beavers had their way with the Texas A&M Aggies today, 56-7. The Beavs D was tough today, holding the Aggies offense to 130 yards of total offense, including 7 sacks and 2 Ints. Former Heisman Trophy All-American Michael Muse started things off great with 12 Tackles 6TFL and 6 Sacks and 1 FF. RS-JR QB Chris Richards bombed for 519 yards and 5 TDs, but he did throw three early Ints, he must cut down on his mistakes. Last years Heisman Winner Reggie Rowe hit the ground running, hauling in 12 receptions for 236 yards and 2 TDs. Overall a decent opening effort from the Beavs. Offensive Standouts QB C Richards 30-47 519yds 5TDs 3Ints 5att -17yds 1TD HB J Irvin 6att 53yds 1TD 1KR 33yds WR R Rowe 12rec 236yds 2TDs TE M Outlaw 10rec 125yds 1TD WR D Matthews 6rec 118yds 2TDs Defensive Standouts POTG LB M Muse 12Tkls 6TFL 6Sacks 1FF LB K McNeil 7Tkls 2TFL SS G Barnes 6Tkls 1Int FS P Jones 6Tkls 1DEFL DE R Cox 4Tkls 2TFL CB D Rodgers 2Tkls 1Int 78yds 1TD DT B Fritz 2Tkls 1TFL DE E Hall 2Tkls 2TFL 1Sack Special Teams Standout CB/KR L Lewis 1KR 37yds 8PR 63yds 7.8avg Next up for the #7 Beavs, a god damned bye...then a date to dance with Goat and his #2 Tarheels of UNC. | |

| UGA looked to be in mid-season form today hosting Oklahoma State. It was a mis-match since the coin toss and UGA is getting some very solid play out of their corps senior class, Macc's first recruiting class. They won today 38-7 and dominated in all facets of the game, specifically passing. QB Lamar Herron threw for 220 yards 3TDs today without a pick, a very good start to his bright senior year. RS Freshman RB Morris Jackson showed flashes of brilliance and big play ability with a 107 yard 13 carry preformance, JR Ryan Walker assumed duties as the goalline and third down back and accounted for 44 yards on 15 carries and 2TDs. Jackson's inexperience showed as he put the ball on the field that would end up in a scoop and score for the Cowboys that would make for their games only score.
"We have some very talented running backs this year and our receiving corps is very experienced. We have a very tough game against Ohio State next week that we will need to be very sharp for to hope to dissapoint the reigning National Champs. Our strategy against them last year was useless so we need to stick to our guns and go out there and preform. If we were to ever have a shot at competeing for the Grand Daddy - my assumption is that it would be this year with such an experienced senior class. But obviously the road goes thru Ohio State..." Macc said about next weeks game.

Jesse, we all know those are absolutely rediculous numbers. You don't NEED to have him win another Heisman. Sorry you have a week two bye but I thought the foundation of this OD agreed nobody would just PAD stats?

| For somebody that works so hard to preach and exhibit realism in this game (fantastic rosters) it confuses me that you'd try and average 8 sacks a game with one player. 8 Sacks is a great number for an entire season for some linebackers. | |

| Yeah Jimmy John's great, but that doesn't mean one player needs to record that many sacks. Regardless, I know the only way a defensive player will win Heisman is if he has completely unrealistic numbers and you never want to listen to anything I say anyways when I try patrolling this OD so fuck it, who cares - go have a 15 sack game week 3 and I'll put up 400 yards of rushing with one player and we'll see how fun this OD becomes. | |

| i'll be playing my game this afternoon before work.
Hey Macc, what is your weekend looking like? I have a busy Saturday, my wife is graduation from college, and then we are having a BBQ and party. Will you be around Sat night?
If we go till Sunday, I have work from 4-9 pm central, we can do it after that, or maybe even before I head into work.
This is all assuming we advance tonight, or early Saturday.

| Nebraska dominates in season opener, Rolls 'Canes 63-10, costly victory?
Miami, FL - The Nebraska offense and defense was clicking on all cylinders as they opened their season at Miami Saturday with a convincing 63-10 whooping of the number 23 Hurricanes. Nebraska put up 506 yards of offense in a very balanced style, running for 243 and throwing for 263 while the Cornhuskers defense held the Hurricanes to 74 yards of offense and 10 points, also holding the 'Canes to 1 of 10 on 3rd down conversions. "In my book, that is how you win games, get the opponents offense off the field, and get yours on it," said Coach Jeff Hickerson.
The Nebraska offense was led by junior QB Jamal Culver before he suffered a severe foot injury that will cost him a huge chunk of the season.(11 weeks) Before Culver exited the game early in the 3rd quarter he 13 for 15 for 263 yards and 2 touchdowns, 0 interceptions. "I really hate it for Jamal, he looked the part of a Nebraska quarterback out there today before going down, I really feel for him, but I have confidence in our freshman, thats why we recruited him," said Hickerson. Also having great days for the Husker offense were freshman running back Mike Ewing and senior Steve Williams who had 15 carries for 115 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 16 carries for 102 yards, 3 touchdowns respectively. Wildcat quarterback Anthony Sanders and freshman backup, now starter Keith Causey also both found the endzone on the ground once.
Defensively the Cornhuskers were led by junior CB Brett Dunbar and fresman MLB Brian Scott who both had 8 tackles. Scott also had a tackle for loss. Junior SS Jason Brown had 2 interceptions on the day.
Next week the Huskers host the number 4 Oregon Ducks who are coming off a national championship appearance.(in which AX still wonders if anyone was open) "It will be a very tough test, but a good test for our team. Things have changed a little bit with Jamal going down but I am confident Keith will step right in and be ready to play in front of our home crowd in Lincoln. We have 3 very good running backs who will need to shoulder a bit more of the load, but I think we will be fine, looking forward to the challenge," said Hickerson.
