| 4* SS Chaos Taylor 6'7 208 4.51 (FL)Chaos Taylor recruitment has come to an end as he announced his decision to play for Florida State. WarChant just spoke to him after his announcement to talk about his decision.
Throughout the 2018 process Chaos Taylor was expected to be a Florida State Seminole, but Taylor took his process in stride and gave every other school a chance to sway him. In the end Chaos did as expected and is signing with FSU.
“It’s a relief and it’s been a long process,” said the 4-star strong safety. “To be honest I didn’t know until about 15 minutes before hand what I was going to do. I called my brother and talked to him about it; he told me to do what’s best for me and to follow my heart. I talked to my dad and he said the same.”
A late conversation with Jon Gruden helped seal the deal.
“Coach Gruden and I talked before I announced,” said Taylor. “I was nervous about it and he was just telling me to calm down and relax. He was telling me how they want me up there and about how this decision is for me. He really helped me out.”
Reports surfaced Wednesday that Taylor had been telling recruits from other programs he was heading their way. He refutes that as he says he never told anyone he was coming.
“I never told any committed recruit I was coming to their school,” explained Taylor. “It was close between Florida, Notre Dame and Tennessee after FSU. It came down to where I was most comfortable and where I fit best.”
Taylor took an unofficial last weekend to FSU as he wanted to familiarize himself with the new defensive coaches. He told WarChant that visit helped out in the end.
“I wanted to go there and get a better relationship with Coach Wilson and the others,” said Taylor. “I was able to do that and it helped out a lot". While the Taylor's have a tradition of playing at FSU Chaos wants to make his own name and leave his footprints on the FSU program.
“I am looking forward to making a name for Chaos there,” said Taylor. “While the coaches told me I can come in and compete it will be on me to come in, work hard, and be the playmaker I plan on being.”
Today looks to be a hectic day for Chaos as he has been inundated with interviews.

| 5* #2 MLB A.J. Green 6'0 225 4.64 (IL)
After looking like Florida State would have a class without any middle linebackers, a 6'0" 225 standout from Paramus, IL pledged his allegiance to the Seminoles.
Early Wednesday morning, Florida State received some great news. Five-star middle linebacker from Paramus, IL, AJ Green sent in his early this morning just as expected. What wasn't expected is who he sent it into.
Green committed to Ron Zook and the University of Illinois about a week ago and it looked like Florida State's late push for Green was too little, too late.
That wasn't the case. Green switched his commitment early Wednesday morning and faxed his LOI to Tallahasse, not Champaign, IL.
"Florida State was the best fit for me," Green said. "They'll bring out my full potential . I have so much faith in the coaches there."
Green is the first and likely the only middle linebacker in this year's class for Florida State. 4* #3 CB Brad Barrett 5'11 175 4.40 (CA)
This has been a huge week for Florida State as they got their 2,3 and 4 4-star commitment in Brad Barrett. WarChant talks about the commitment and what it means to the class heading into Signing Day.
What week for Florida State! First AJ Green committed, and then yesterday St. Thomas Aquinas defensive back Barrett decided to end his recruitment and verbally commit to the Seminoles.
Getting Barrett to commit was huge for FSU because he is a national recruit that plays a major position of need. It has been known that the ‘Noles need defensive backs in this class. There aren’t many in the country better than Barrett. While some question his size, Joyner has the wing span of a 6-footer, is extremely explosive, and he can jump out of the gym. You’ll be hard pressed to find a corner as physical as Barrett is.
Scout.com says this about Brad: speed kills and Barrett may be the fastest football player, in pads, in the entire state of California. Barrett should join a handful of players in all of college football right now who can change the image of a game with just one touch. With long limbs and a great leaping ability he has the ability to cover taller receivers and lower center of gravity to change direction with smaller receivers.
Barrett’s recruitment never did turn into the roller coaster ride some expected, but last week Brad made headlines when he eliminated FSU. Barrett admitted earlier this week that he overreacted to that and did not think it through.
While schools like Ohio State and Florida each made runs at him, Barrett was always a ‘Nole at heart. The Buckeyes were the program that gave FSU the most competition, but Barrett elt all along he’d end up in Tallahassee.
4* #14 JC CB Nick Vinson 6'1 182 4.54 (GA)
The Seminoles are on a roll! FSU added another commitment today, this time for the class of 2018. WarChant caught up with Nick Vinson to talk about his commitment to Florida State, and he talks about when fans and coaches can expect him at FSU.
The need for defensive backs in 2018 has been talked about numerous times over and over again. Today the program got a shot in the arm as El Camino cornerback Nick Vinson has committed to Florida State. With offers from a host of schools like Florida, FIU, Ole Miss, Alabama, Oregon, Oklahoma State and a host of others, it was the support that Jon Gruden and James Coley at FSU that put the Seminoles on top for the talented JUCO corner.
“FSU is a great program, but it was Coach Gruden and Coach Coley who really sold me on them,” said Vinson of the ‘Noles. “They’ve showed me a lot of support as I try to get these last classes out of the way. I plan on graduating this month but I have to work on my English and Geometry class. The coaches at FSU told me they would wait for me if I had to come in the summer. Ole Miss said they would too, but Alabama said they wouldn’t. I just trust the coaches at FSU and thank them for the support.
4* #6 T Eic Jackson 6'8 325 5.00 (FL)
Jackson is very powerful, especially in his upper body where he uses a strong hand punch to throw defenders away at the snap. He uses his arms to keep separation and does a good job controlling his man and opening holes. His drive blocking can be devastating at times. Jackson also does a more then adequate job of pulling and getting to the second level, making blocks in space and showing great hustle and pride in his game. – Matt Alkire
4* #8 SS Marcus Young 6'3 204 4.62 (FL)Young is one the top play-makers in the state on both sides of the ball. He had a brilliant senior campaign at WR, particularly in the playoff push. Young simply knows how to play the game and stepped up when it counted most. He runs precise routes and has enough physicalness to create mismatches with smaller DBs. He could play S or WR at the next level, he prefers WR, many colleges prefer him on the defensive side of the ball. -Geoff Vogt

| 5* #2 Michael Mitchell 6'0 177 4.44 (UT)Another in a long-line of gifted cornerbacks from New Beach (UT) Poly, Mitchell has gone up against some of the elite receivers in the nation in practice the last couple of years, as Poly has produced some of the best receivers nationally. As a junior, Mitchell had 51 tackles and one interception while playing opposite USC signee Vincent Joseph for the talented Jackrabbits secondary. Partial senior season (3-1) stats: approx 20 tackles/1 interception; 5 rushing TDs and 1 receiving score.
Mitchell reports a 2.9 core GPA and an 880 SAT--"I'm already qualified but I'm going to retake the test again in November just to get a better score."4* JC #5 Justin Brown #5 6'2 197 4.56 (CO)FSU 2018 football recruiting class got a jump-start on Wednesday when junior college cornerback Justin Brown signed a national letter of intent to play for the Seminoles Brown will have two years of eligibility with FSU beginning with the 2018 season and will go through spring drills.
The 6-2, 195-pound Brown attended Hueneme High School in Oxnard, Calif. He tallied 38 tackles, 4.5 tackles for losses, five pass break-ups, a forced fumble, a blocked kick and six interceptions at Ventura JC in 2017. He had two more interceptions that were nullified due to penalties. Against Cerritos Junior College on Sept. 26, he intercepted three passes in the first 18 minutes, returning one 27 yards for a touchdown, and returned a fourth-quarter punt for 70 yards. Brown had five punt returns for a team-best 16.8-yard average on the year.
Brown was recently named to the Southern Colorado Football Association’s All-Star first team.
He had three interceptions while playing safety as a freshman in 2016. He led the Southern Conference in tackles with 81 that year and averaged 20.5 yards on six kickoff returns. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.42 seconds, according to JCFootball.com.
Brown chose FSU after receiving scholarship offers from Arizona and Hawaii. He was an All-State wide receiver in high school.
