COMMITMENT PROFILES
Ricky Simons ATH Agua Fria, NM 6'2" 211 ****
Rivals Rating - 5.8 Ranked #59 Overall #4 ATH
40 Time - 4.56 Bench Max - 259 Squat Max - 315
- Simon's became Coach Macc's first 2020 commitment and it's no surprise he was among the top tier players Macc contacted early this year. Simon's may suffer from some "big fish in a small pond" symptoms in his young career, but it's no surprise that Simon's compared to a lot of the skilled positions - could be among the best. Simon's has unlimited potential based on the fact that he can do so many different things on the football field. He possesses the compeitive mindset of a linebacker and has certainly made a name for himself on the defensive side of the ball. However, scouts have said this kid may have the best set of hands in the entire class... which could be what would make Coach Macc want to lean closer to putting him on the offensive side of the ball. He has the size to play the tight end position athletically but with two (current) freshman and a sophmore ahead of him, Macc may alter his lineup to make sure this kid see's playing time early. Simon's could also make an impact at the outside linebacker or safety position.
COACH MACC - "What we've seen is a very competitive, high motor running kid who enjoys playing and plays an instrumental role in leadership on his high school team. Simons competes in another football league during the summer when his Agui Fria season comes to an end where he gets to play in big states like Texas, Oklahoma and Georgia. We're very interested to see how he plays in the summer league this year and that should give us a better idea of his all around skill set and where he's comfortable. We have high hopes Ricky will be a big contributor early in his college career,"
Brendan Robertson C Raleigh Hills, OR 6'5" 265 *****
Rivals Rating - 6.0 Ranked #10 Overall #1 C
40 Time - 5.00 Bench Max - 474 Squat Max - 690
- Robertson followed up Ricky Simons week 3 commitment with a commitment of his own after his week three visit. Robertson may be one of the most college eligible, hard nosed, aggressive offensive linemen the Dawgs have seen ina recent memory of terrific offensive line prospects. Roberston may very well become the most athletically talented offensive lineman at the University of Georgia the second he signs his letter of intent. On the runblock, Roberston has the ability to make even the games best defenders look like children. He rarely gives up a sack and is extremely dependable in all situations you'd expect out of your offensive line captain.
COACH MACC - "We're very happy to hear Brendan's taken such a sincere liking in our school. Coming from all the way across the country to want to play here is very gratifying. He comes in at a perfect time because with senior Ryan Love graduating this year and having a legit shot at the NFL - we'll need a replacement and with Brendan we won't be really taking any steps back, only forward,"
Darren Washington T Fort Benning South, GA 6'8" 296 *****
Rivals Rating - 6.2 Ranked #5 Overall #2 T
40 Time - 5.00 Bench Max - 444 Squat Max - 690
- Darren Washington is another big recruit for the Bulldogs as they continue to stack their offensive line. Despite the black horse recruits they've had in recent memory, Washington solidifies a strong base for the future of the offensive line in Athens. A massive bear of a man, Washington's general knowledge and skills in both pass block and run block are exceptional. His run block footwork could certainly use some work to be a top tier player, but for what he lacks in foot work he certainly makes up for in strength.
COACH MACC - "Darren certainly adds depth to our core offensive line. He's a big boy who loves contact and loves to be a force in the offensive game. Most sturdy, steady OLinemen fly under the radar underneath the high skill set players, quarterbacks, receivers and running backs but this kid would be any running backs best friend to have blocking for them off the edge,"
Alex Snyder SS Mount Pleasent, SC 6'2" 206 *****
Rivals Rating - 5.4 Ranked #123 Overall #5 SS
40 Time - 4.52 Bench Max - 390 Squat Max - 355
- Alex Snyder may be a project player considering all the young talent the Dawgs have at safety. He might fight for a starting spot within his junior and senior year, his athleticism and size make him a great player to have in center field.
Maurice Jordan DE Madison Heights, MI 6'7" 252 ****
Rivals Rating - 6.1 Ranked #168 Overall #7 DE
40 Time - 4.72 Bench Max - 414 Squat Max - 680
- Maurice Jordan is an abosolute monster. Coming off of the edge with his lean 6'7 foot frame - he has terrific speed for an end and will make a big impact in pass rush situations. Jordan made a big decision to come across the country to play his college ball and should get some early playingtime based upon how much of an impact he can have even at the college level. Jordan may very well be the biggest dark horse in this years DE class - and with the Bulldogs needing a replacement for their starting defensive end, he could very well take home next seasons All-SEC/Freshman All American DE spot.
Zac Robinson CB Topsham, ME 5'10" 189 ***
Rivals Rating - 5.2 Ranked #519 Overall #72 CB
40 Time - 4.38 Bench Max - 265 Squat Max - 220
- Zac Robinson is a very fast, agile corner whose most impressive attribute right now is his 4.3 speed. Robinson has almost allready agreed to redshirt a year, with the ability to be a #2 by his sophmore year and the teams #1 CB in his junior and senior year.
