There is a new head coach at the University of Pittsburgh, and he bringing a certain swag to this program that hasn't been seen to date. In a press conference to Coach Carlin Shaw introduce himself to Panther Nation. Here R a few Quotes from the Press Conference.

"First and foremost I am very trilled to be the head coach at Pitt and happy to be a member of the Pitt Athletic Program Family. I would like to thank the AD for this chance and WE will not disappoint. Im aware of the history of this program and this coach staff as well as the players are prepared to embrace it and add on to the legacy. I want to bring a swagger to the program. I wan the player to be confident about what we are doing on and off the field. we will compete day in and out to be the best there is in College football. Im not coming here to chance the program but rather to re-energize it. Dion is great player and we will rely on his abilities. were gonna play hard nose football and try to win games. to do this we need the full support of the fans. this we be a great yr so get on the bus and come along for the ride with us!!!"

Coach SHaw: Thank you all for being here today, this is a very exciting time for Pitt Football. So without going farther I'll start answering you all questions.

Reporter: How do you feel to be name preseason number 1?

Coach Shaw: Its a great accomplishment of sorts. We're honored for folks to think that highly of us. We believe that we will have a decent team, but we know this means nothin if we aren't number 1 at the end of the year.

Reporter: How do Graham and Lewis Co-exist at the RB spot?

Coach Shaw: Well first off you forgot about Harris, but I'll let you slide this time lol. These 3 guys have fought hard all through spring ball and fall camp for carries, they're each different type of back and we'll look to use them all on different situations throughout the year. I think winning will make us all happy anyway that what really matters.

Reporter: How do you get Kolby Gray comfortable with Dickerson and Baldwin moving on.

Coach Shaw: Why did you have to go and remind me i lost them 2 guys, mane i tell ya lol... but Kolby is a Junior now and he knows the offense inside and out, so that alone should make him comfortable. we'll open up the playbook more and let him loose on more designed runs and stuff like that. But the receivers we have r going to make plays, they'll step up.

Reporter: What changes have been made to the Defense?

Coach Shaw: We thought about going to a 4-2-5 base set, but we realized we got a let of guys they allow us to do much more then that, so we decided to go with a multiple set playbook this year. We expect this unit to still be as strong or better than last yrs.

Reporter: What are ur thoughts on the schedule?

Coach Shaw: As we have it now we will play 5 top 25 teams 3 of them on the road... Our first 3 game our on the road, so this schedule is very tough, but i expect to go through it without a loss. for us to do that we will need our A game every saturday and at times that we not b enough. so we'll need you all to pray for us too.

Thanks guys, I got to get back to work for K State this week.. Ill see ya next.

Pitt Wk 1 Post Game Interview w/ Coach Shaw

Reporter: Are you happy with the Team performance?

Coach Shaw: Yes anytime you get a win there something to be happy about. We played very well for it to be our first game but we know that well need to build on the performance and continue to get better.

Reporter: Will the Rb situation continue to go the way it did today?

Coach Shaw: I think it could change somewhat based on the type of game that we are in, but we do not want one guy get the bulk of the carries in case of injury we wont the other to be prepared if that happens. So we've talked and I think this week were going to take the redshirt off BJ Manson and get him involved as well

Reporter: Can you speak on Kolby Gray's performance?

Coach Shaw: It was impressive to say the less, the one negative came in the opening series of the second half when he got sack 3 consecutive times to force a three and out. so we better protection the passing game will be fine and Kolby will continue to play this way and Im really thinking by season end he'll b mention for some awards.

Reporter: how will u handle this bye week thats upcoming?

We'll handle it the same way we handle fall camp this week well practice on things we did wrong in the K state game and then in the next week leading up to Clemson we'll game plan and scheme against what we think they'll do and prepare our players to counter it and execute.

Thanks guys Ill see you all next monday for the weekly presser. You guys stay safe and be blessed. Hail to Pitt!!!

Pitt Wk 2 Post Game Interview w/ Coach Shaw

Coach Shaw: How is everyone doing, we can go head and get started.

Reporter: How did you like having a bye week this early in the season?

Coach Shaw: I didnt dislike it, but I would definitely rather have our byes at the end of the season once we got rolling and more comfortable with games under our belt. Playing that one game and then having a bye will make it easier for us to come out and struggle this weak but i think we've handle it well and we should be prepared come saturday.

Reporter: Any injuries?

Coach Shaw: None major that will cause guys to miss action that I know have. there are always guys that are nicked up but thats under control and we b firing on all clyinders come saturday.

Reporter: Now a couple weeks ago the Cincy Coach made reference that Pitt shouldnt have been Preseason #1, How do you respond to that?

Coach Shaw: He might be right there are many teams that could claim that title but we we're forunate to have it placed on us. The #1 ranking will play itself out throughout the season so we'll see.

Reporter: What do you notice about Clemson?

Coach Shaw: They're very aggressive on both sides of the ball. we'll need to secure the ball and protect it. this might be the type of game that the time of possession and field position play a big role.

Reporter: As of right now do you think the team is prepared for the game.

Coach Shaw: We are prepared somewhat, but over the next few days we will get the game plan in and well see Saturday.

Thanks Guys for the questions its always fun. Stay Safe and Be Blessed this upcoming week Ill see ya next monday hopefully coming off a win. Hail to Pitt!!!

Pitt Wk 3 Post Game Interview w/ Coach Shaw

Coach Shaw: Ok guys lets get started.

Reporter: What the problem with the run D against Clemson?

Coach Shaw: I think it was just a matter of players run out of their gaps and messing up assignments. Clemson RB is very talented though and I give him alot of credit for making our Defense look average. Will be working on the run stop alot this week, we can allow Texas these same gaps and expect to win.

Reporter: Is Kolby Gray injury serious?

Coach Shaw: No, I believe Kolby was able to go back in the Clemson game if need be but we held him out just in case. We will look at him through the week and determine if he is fine, but I'm pretty sure that he'll be able to start the Texas game.

Reporter: Your Player of the game?

Coach Shaw: It would have to be Cameron Saddler, he gave us spark after spark when we were down, his kick return capability is so special to this time. I hope he can keep it up all year.

Reporter: How do you feel about goin back to Austin this coming week and playing Texas?

Coach Shaw: It will be special for me, you know growing up there and always cheering for Texas its going to be one of those things that u kind of dont want to have to do. I got all kind of family trynna get tickets to the game so i can see this trip being very stressful, but fun at the same time. I going be excited for this game maybe more than the kids, so we'll see how it turns out.

Thanks guys, see you all next week. Got some game planning to take care of and a team meeting. Stay Safe and Be Blessed.Hail to Pitt!!!
