Texas is known for the amount of D-I athletes they produce every year, and Coach Patterson and the Horned Frogs staff expects to chime in on the hotbed of talent in their own state.

"We have so many great athletes and programs here in Texas, that we should have some talented players interested in our program. Obviously we have to compete with Texas, and the other in-state schools, as well as OU, NEB, and others...but we feel now with the pitch of being in a big time conference that we can sell those recruits on our program"

"We need to beef up our defensive back seven, as well as get a lineman, offensively and defensively. We will lose Jerry Hughes, and will need to fill a void at DE. We have a good board set up as of now, and will feel our way through the first few weeks to see who has a strong interest in us, hopefully we can even steal a top in-state recruit."

Coach Patterson was pleased with his first recruiting class, able to pull in a Top 15 class

Prized Recruit- Allan Timmons 5* RB, ( 83 ovr 95 spd, 90 acc, 91 agi)- "We always like depth at this position, with as much as we run the ball. Allan provides a definate spark, he played in a high class in Texas during his senior year, and really came on late with a 5* ranking. We willnot hesitate to put him in the game"

Steal of the Class- Marcus Quinn 3* OLB ( 79 ovr 89 Spd, Strong Pursuit and Recognition skills) "Marcus we feel can move around and play multiple postions, he is a bit under sized as 6'2 211lbs but has the speed of s safety. Right now he is going to start at OLB for us, as we will use his coverage skills to match up with TE's and RB's. He has a great motor and I think, if it wasn't for a injury during his Sr. Year in high school, he would had been a top 100 recruit"

I did get a late start on him, so that could cost me. I am more worried about him committing to Florida..he visits them week 11..right before me

Yea macc I got in on him in week 3 I believe. and his only offer was from me, then Bama hopped in with an offer.

He looks like he could be special. His running skills, along with pretty decent pass ratings as a frosh are impressive.
