| Well, Stanford knocked Iowa off last night 28-14 so that blew this season wide open. Made room for some new teams for the shot at the NC. I stayed up late so that I could hear the score. GOTW Cincinnati @ Oklahoma - Coach Clevmire's #4 Bearcats take on a tough Boomer Sooner squad who have yet to record a win through the first two weeks. I look for the Bearcats to roll the Sooners and dare put an early nail in their coffin. Heisman 2) WR Bradley McDougald KU - 2TD 3) QB Kale Cooper KU - 24/40 400 Yards 4TD No user games fellas get your recruiting/games in ASAP! | |

| Rebels Host 5 Recruits In Conference Opening Win Over Vandy 30-19
The Ole Miss Rebels opened conference play last night and made it two straight against their conference rival, Vanderbilt. Last years thrashing 47-7 must've left a bitter taste in their mouth because right out of the gates it looked to be all Vandy. The Commodores elected to take the kick off in the second half in what would be the first indicator that they came to play.
The Commodores defensively we're sound in the first quarter. Not allowing nearly anything for the Rebels to get going. They forced a three and out on the first drive and Larry Smith drove his team down the field and connected with his TE Justin Green streaking down the sideline as Jeremy McGee went for the interception leaving his man wide open for the 71 yard score, the first of the game 7-0 Vandy.
The touchdown given up on defence seemed to silence the crowd at Vaught Hemingway Stadium but that silence wouldn't last long because on the ensuring kick off, return specialist WR Markeith Summers took the kick, hit a few blocks, slashed up the right sideline and down it to pater for a 93 yard kick return, game tying touchdown.
The Commodores seemed to calm down through the better half of the first quarter, not allowing Ray Cotton & Company to really threaten and move the sticks. The Commodores had the ball on the Miss side of the 50 almost every time they had the ball and although being stopped, they kicked field goals from 56 and 19 to take the 13-7 lead for what appeared to be would last the entire half.
That was until Ray Cotton and his newest target on offence, true freshman WR Tray Talbot decided to take the game into his own hands. On third and long, Talbot showed the Rebel faithful why he was so highly regarded and gave them some hope with one of the nicest DIVING one handed catches in recent memory. Talbot took a would-be incomplete pass and his diving effort was just enough to move the sticks. Coach Macc called a timeout with just a little over a minute and Cotton hooked up with Talbot on the very next play as he burned the Commodore defence through the middle on a post pattern that went the distance for 58 yards giving the Rebels the 14-13 lead going into half.
"I don't think enough can be said about Tray. He's a dynamic player and he had a monster game today. His one-hander to move the chains when we needed a score was exactly what we needed to get the momentum in our favour. Our defence had calmed down by this point and just kept everyone in front of them. I'm really impressed with Ray's ability to read coverages this year. Our O Line is doing a great job of allowing him time to find his reads and he's using his entire arsenal to attack offences. He's a very different quarterback from last year," Macc said about his sophmore starter.
TE EJ Epperson took advantage of the Commodores blanketing All American TE Ferbia Allen all night and hauled in two recpetions for touchdowns, four total catches on the day for 66 yards. The Commodores made it a point to shut down Brandon Bolden and Ferbia Allen in the passing game, taking away Cotton's two favourite reads when feeling pressure.
"Yeah they didn't give me any room all day to set up the screen. I mean, I had my blockers but there was a linebacker on my heels the entire time and I just couldn't get open. They worked hard on stopping our screen plays today and it was a large reason why we couldn't really get rolling offensively," Bolden said.
Brandon Bolden had a quiet, solid game on the ground bouncing off would-be tacklers and moving the sticks for his Rebels. Bolden had 22 carries and efficiently took them for a total of 154 yards, a long of 41 in the fourth quarter that ran Vandy Defensive Captain LOLB John Stokes over.
Brandon Bolden's 41 yard rush after leveling Vandy's defensive captain.
The fourth quarter was all Rebels. By now they'd adjusted to the Commodores gameplan and didn't allow a single fourth quarter point as their offence accounted for 10, 7 of them coming on Epperson's second TD of the game where he was left uncovered all by himself along the right sideline.
"I knew I had a lot of time in the pocket. I wasn't pressure at all today and I was making my reads, looking for an open target and it looked like they had good coverage. I looked to my backside and saw EJ arms waving in the air so I hit him in stride and it was probably one of the easiest touchdown's he'll ever score," Cotton said.
The Rebels left with the win and it was due in large part to some uncharacteristic offenders in the passing game and Brandon Bolden's ability to run the ball successfully up the middle. Coach Macc named Tray Talbot the games POTG and had this to say,
"Any time in these rivalry games, it doesn't matter if it's by a field goal or by 40+. You just want to take the win any way you can get it. Sure, last years meeting in Nashville gave us a bit more momentum but we really picked it up in the second half and didn't allow their offence much. Our defensive secondary is the best in the country and they proved it today. We're really improving as a team - we still have a lot of work to do but we think we impressed the recruits we had on campus this week and we couldn't be happier with a win over an arch rival,"
POTG - WR Tray Talbot - 5 receptions 109 yards 1TD
OFFENSIVE STANDOUTS Ray Cotton 19/33 217 yards 3TD 1INT Brandon Bolden 22 carries 154 yards EJ Epperson 4 catches 66 yards 2TDs
DEFENSIVE STANDOUTS SS Johnny Brown - 12 solo tackles 3TFL FS Derrick Herman - 8 solo tackles 2 sacks

| #7 STANFORD HAS A BYE THIS WEEK, THEN TAKES ON RIVAL NOTRE DAME NEXT WEEKAP Report As reported last winter rumors were out that Jack Elway, son of Stanford and Denver Bronco star John Elway had left the Arizona State Sun Devils and was looking to tranfer to Stanford. Those rumors were confirmed when he was listed on the Cardinal roster this week...Coach Harbaugh said, It's great to have Jack here, he is young and has some things to work on, he is currently 3rd on the depth chart, but the talent is there"... | |

| Kansas had The Louisville Cardinals come to town this week and the first question for both teams is Where is the Defense??? the 108 pts scored total between both teams.. "We are gonna address the defense because we cant give up 38 points a game and expect to win.. we have alot of young guys starting on our defense and they are going to have to be more aware out there.. expect some personal changes in the defense.." Said coach santana.. The offense did what they do.. in 3 quarters Kale Cooper went 19-25 474 yds 6 td through the air 8 carries for 85 yds.. This is what kale had to say when asked what he was seeing that let him have such a big day.." The werent disguising some of thier defenses well and they were all over toben in the option and letting me run free im not the fastest but i got some wheels..." Bradley Mcdougaled turned in an almost record breaking performance with 9 catches for 235 yds and 3 td.. The fr at SS was also huge today turning in 12 solo tackles and a ff and the fr DE turining in 3 sacks 11 solo and an int.. "This is a young team and they are learning.. we have a bye next week and im going to work the defense hard. After our bye we are into Confrence PLay and we have to be prepared..." Coach Santana
Final Score Kansas 70 Louisville 38...
