The talk this week in the land was about the number #4 Oregon State Beavers taking on the #8 Oregon Ducks in the annual civil war... This game had that bowl game kind of field as this game would determine perhaps who plays for the national championship, Rose Bowl and most of all Who wins the Pac-10...Last time the two teams met Oregon State Won it and went on to the national championship after the win defeating the ducks at home.. would be a repeat of last year? Lets find out.. on to the highlights...

The Beavers would win the toss and elect to take the ball on offense first. The Oregon d took the field and was fired up forcing a 3 and out and stopin the beaves big back J.Lane ... The Ducks would take the ball and drive it all the way down the field mostly on the back of jr hb Howard..West in the redzone would hook up with wr Jordan for 8 yds and the score.. 7-0 Oregon..The beavers on the next drive they wouldn't stray from thier run game and the oregon defense would show up forcing what would seem to be another 3 and out.. however coach 9's would decide differently and go for it on fourth n short and convert..after a 21 yard run the defense again would stop the run forcing what would seem to be another 3 and out but again coach 9's wasnt ready to come off the field yet going for it again on fourth down and completing the pass for 16 yards..in the redzone the defense again would force the beavers into a fourth down and again coach 9's would go for it.. and this time score..making it 7-7.."When he went for it the first time i was shocked because it was on his side of the field.. the second time again i wasnt as surprised it was one of those sits where maybe punt n pin deep or u go for it fg is too long.. the third time i almost passed out.. our defense was getting the stops but its a bit harder when u gotta play for down football.." Said Coach Santana.. Oregon would get the ball back and again howard lead the charge 4 carries 51 yards and a td..14-7 Ducks On the defense would dominate the next 2 series for both teams.. and with a little over a min left the beaves would pound that rock and punch it in for 6 with 16 seconds left on the clock before half 14-14...

The second half on the first drive the beaves would shut down the ducks offense forcing a 3 and out when on third down dj jorda would drop a clean pass...but the oregon defense would get them the ball right back forcing a 3 and out.. On the next drive the ducks would keeo the beaves off balance mixing it up with run and pass and west would scramble in from a yard out n score 21-14 Oregon. Te ducks defense would again force a punt and the oregon offense would continue to keep the beavs off balance throwing a bit more on this drive and mr.efficent this year atari west would make a beautiful throw into the end zone to extend the ducks lead to two possessions 28-14.... With time winding down the beavers would drive and score but running the ball pretty much all the way down and eating up alot of clock..Gates would complete a td pass 28-21 Oregon.. Oregon would recover the onside kick but the beaver defense would keep them out of the endzone and would settle for a 52 yard fg...talk about a clutch kick.. 31-21 Oregon.. The beaves would then open up the pass game as they had no choice with time running out...and with Oregon in a quarter d.. the QB on the field would audibile to a run play to get more yardage.. lane would start up the field and get about 10 before he met ss Brown and get lit up and fumble the rock ..Oregon recovers and that would seal the deal.. "It was a great game.. we knew Coach 9's was going to lead on his rb and i told out defense be tough inside on the run.. all week in practice thats all we did work on stoping the beavers heavy run attack.. and it paid off.. It was a great game and we congratulate coach 9's on the outstanding job he has done up the road there.. n we look forward to next year.. this has become i think the biggest rivalry game in the country the last few years.. it always means alot for both squads.." Coach Santana The ducks have taken home the pac 10 championship for the second time in 3 years since coach santana came out to the ducks.. what a year..!!!

the fourth down i went for on that first drive i was on like the 50.. to long for a fg and a punt if it goes into the endzone is what 30 yards so ya i rolled the dice.. but not like how u did on ur second drive i was in total shock u went for it n u were on like ur 30.. but hey ur risk if i get the stop there it was an easy 3.. we let ppl play. if i had lost im sure i woulda talked a lil shit about the drive tho lol just keepin it real

yeah...i only did that...cuz i knew i needed to answer or i was in trouble...and you were on your on 40......like i said....i respect it...I went into this game to make a conscious effort not to go for it on 4th....but when you did that on the first drive.....I had to do it

ya it was early but being down 14 if i had scored is tough.. trust me i have done it a few times against bucc u just kno if u let him get u down 14 ur pretty much done... so i understand why u would feel that way about it.. and then the second one just made sense same sit i was in too far to kick too close to punt so y not.. and then in then from inches out off course not after going thru all that to get so close do u then settle for 3 at that point its all or nothing.. so i get it..

This makes the acc championship HUGE.... winner to the natty ship, right?

4th and 1 or inches is a gots to go fourth down situation....it's almost a must
