HaHa...The joke is on Coach Gruden..."I have had a star under my nose, and didn't realize it...poor Mark Simpson, SR QB, led the Seminoles to a Natty his SO Year, but was benched to start his JR YR for Tommy Raines the transfer from North Carolina, only to start the last part of the season...comes in his SR year ready to led the FSU team to a natty run and what happens????he get's hurt wk 5...can you say Wally Pip???...Holy shit, Tate Jones is off the hook...Such a live ARM...K...Here we go...FSU takes on GT in a classic ACC battle....Simpson seems rusty, arm strenght is week, even though he is 7-9 for 63 yard Coach Gruden can tell he just doesn't have it...ENTER THE FUTURE!
TATE JONES...WOW...16-24 420 YARDS 5 TD 0 INT...Huge FSU win...we have a new starter at FSU, look out ACC, this kid is the bomb!

I understand I have no room for recruiting complaining, but this year is not going well, when you think it would coming off a NC title...I have lost 3 guys thus far..and havent signed one...boo

I finally picked up my first commit last week, a 4 star Offensive Tackle I believe... at Maryland I let my o line fall apart over the years.. gonna try not and let that happen in Lincoln.

what is the rule on playing a running back at quarterback?? He was already on the team when I got there, but I assume he was an athlete in high school because he is rated a 72 at QB... so its not like just putting a random running back at quarterback....I know it is ok to use him as a wildcat... but what about as a QB?

my take would be...i wouldn't mind if you put him in there on your depth chart this year, only if you plan to make him a QB through position changes at the end of the season.
Just my opinion, we'll see what others think

sounds good, if thats the case I probably wont do that lol... so ill just stick with my two freshman probably and leave him as the wildcat, his accuracy isnt too great anyway... strong arm though...
finally got my new sig. i like it.

Underway, Iowa State wins toss and will play defense first.
It appears freshman QB Keith Causey will start out under center for Nebraska but one would have to imagine he is on a very short leash.
1st Quarter: 7-7 Nebraska goes 3 and out on 1st possession, Causey leads very impressive drive on 2nd possession going 4 for 4 for 53 yards, Steve Williams punched it in from a yard out.
Iowa State 4 for 4 on 3rd down conversions.
2nd Quarter: Nebraska 21 Iowa State 10 Nebraska gets another good looking drive out of Causey that results in a rushing touchdown for Causey himself. Causey then gets the ball with 40 seconds left at about the 30 and drives the length of the field only to throw an interception inside the red zone. Sophomore CB Justin Wilson returned an interception 39 yards for a touchdown.
The Nebraska D has finally figured out Iowa States triple option type attack it seems, will find out quick as Iowa State gets ball to start 2nd half.
3rd Quarter: Nebraska 21 Iowa State 17 Not much doing from the Nebraska offense, couple first downs but nothing sustained. One fumble by the tight end.
One big play by the Iowa State quarterback was about the only action in the 3rd quarter, a 40 or so yard run down to the 5 and then they punched it in. Interesting 4th quarter coming up im sure. Iowa State will punt the ball to start it.
FINAL: Nebraska 35 Iowa State 20 Nebraska got a touchdown from freshman to freshman, Causey to McCloud and then a 46 yard Melvin Pittman run to seal the deal.

Nebraska head coach Jeff Hickerson got what he wanted Saturday, number 1 a win, number 2, a good game from his freshman QB Keith Causey. Hickerson got both. Causey led the Huskers to a 35 to 20 victory over Big 12 foe Iowa State. Causey finished the day a modest 12 for 22 for 181 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. However, it was his game management that Hickerson was most pleased with - "Keith played terrific today if you ask me, he checked into the right plays, put the football where it was supposed to be, and made plays when he had too. The interception right before the half was just bad luck, the defender made a hell of a play on the ball." Third string running back Melvin Pittman had another good game and might have found his way into the starting lineup according to Hickerson - "Melvin has played tremendous all year, he made a feq questionable decisions in the offseason that moved him down the depth chart but we feel like he has paid his dues and his playing time will start to increase, he is one hell of a player." Pittman finished the day with 8 carries for 102 yards and a touchdown. Catching the ball, Greg McCloud continued to have an impressive freshman year, hauling in two passes for 42 yards and a touchdown.

I think recruiting has to do with the amount of seniors leaving....If you have alot of stud players leaving there will be a lot of stud recruits in those positions to help you replenish....Do you have alot of seniors leaving this year Buc? if not maybe that why recruiting is a year by year thing....just a theory

Luv- I have 12 seniors leaving and all of them are starters and very good players. I am going after studs, not that they are not interested, just not pulling them in as of yet. I have lost a 5* T & 5* FS to UNC, a 5* WR to Oregon...so just missing out on some. I will be good though.
