17 SRS +3 = 20 Spots

1st commit of season:

Michael George - Gresham Park, GA - 4 star - #8 G in country

George committed to the Cornhuskers over the likes of Florida State, North Carolina, TCU, and Alabama. Very nice get for Coach Hickerson who has said he is putting a special emphasis on offensive lineman in the second time around as a head coach. He has lost out on his 2 tackles the Cornhuskers had on the board, but leads for 3 Offensive Guards that are all highly ranked. George is a very good run blocker with great footwork, however he needs to improve upon his pass blocking. If things go as planned, and all 3 guards become Cornhuskers, one will move to a tackle position, but do not expect it to be George.

2nd Commit of season

Steve Miller - Pampa, TX - 4 star - #9 G in country

Miller committed to Nebraska over UNC, Oklahoma, Iowa, and Ohio State although the only current offer was from the Cornhuskers. Miller has good size at 6'5 and 264 and decent speed. He could be the one of the 3 guards that Hickerson hopes to land that moves outside to tackle. He is the opposite of previous commit Micahel george as he is very finely tuned as a pass blocker instead of a run blocker. However, he is more advanced as a run blocker than George is as a pass blocker in Hickerson's opinion. Miller is a very strong kid and could see playing time next year.

3rd Commit of season

Kevin Madsen - Smithtown, NY - 4 star - # 4 WR in country

Madsen picked the Huskers' over the Vols of Tennessee. He is another typical Coach Hickerson wide out, does not have the blazing speed and the highlight make you miss moves, but has all the tools to be a very durable and dependable wide receiver on Saturdays and Sundays. He has above average speed and great hands but needs to work on getting in and out of routes. Expect him to see some playing time next season, but will not be the leading wide out for the Huskers'.

The Nebraska class is currently number 15 in the country.

4th Commit of season

Shannon Nicholson - Bakersfield, CA - 5 star - # 3 HB in country

Nicholson is the picture of running back beside the word in the dictionary, standing at 6'0 200 pounds, he is the perfect size. He has enough speed to get the job done, but lacks the breakaway speed. He tkes care of the ball and can run between the tackles or outside. Hits the hole extremely quick. With the way Michael Washington has been playing for the Huskers' lately, I wouldn't expect Nicholson to start next year, but he will most definitely see some carries.

I have 4 guys that are soft commits to me also now... hopefully this will be Coach Hickerson's best recruiting class. I really need some D-Lineman though in a bad bad way. Hope they add some in the offseason or I may be screwed there.
