In what would be a defensive battle, the Pittsburgh Panthers slip away with the road victory, 21-14 and are the 2012 Pennsylvania Bowl champions. The Panthers record just their second win in three weeks after being demolished by the Florida Gators week one. The Panthers finally retyurn home after opening the season with three tough home games - at Florida, Michigan State and today against PSU.

Defensively, true freshman FS Adrian Rice lead the team in tackles recording 9 (8 solo, 2 tackles for loss) and was involved in a pass break up on a third and long attempt that could've easily been a Derek Moye reception. Rice has solidified his starting spot with his ability to be the "do it all" safety despite his tender age.

However, the player of the game must go to DT Justin Hargrove who was a nightmare for Penn State offensive coordinators all afternoon recording FOUR sacks today. Hargrove supplied pressure on every passing situation that forced a lot of bad passes and at the end of the game only down 7, recorded a sack that would end the Nittany Lions hopes at a comeback on fourth down.

"After our week one loss, the critics have gone to town about how weak our defence is. We were all very rattled by that loss to Florida but after this huge win for us, we at least know now who dominates Pennsylvania. I'm very proud of our entire defence today, they played well holding a potent offence to only 14 points," Coach Macc said.

In offensive statistics QB Tino Sunseri was a cool 11/13 145 yards 2 TD's and his second touchdown was the games POTG to WR Jon Baldwin who accounted for 135 yards himself on 6 catches. Senior QB Patrick Bostick had an opportunity to get some snaps in, throwing 2-2 for 46 yards as well. RB Dion Lewis rushed for 123 on 21 attempts, scoring a touchdown on the ground as well. The Panthers host Missouri next week, a team that crushed their will early last season so it should be interesting to see how the battle of Coach Ax and Coach Macc plays out this year.

sounds good, i feel like my boys really grew up a bit last week... even though we played WKU, it was on the road however... which i just realized i have 3 straight road games to start season lol

not complainign about your schedule making ax, dont take it like that... i just noticed it, i do have both my rivals though, thanks for that!

Anywho, my freshman end that played like a lil boy in week 1, played like a MAN last week... so be curious to see how he does

coke lit me up in the passing game...can't believe how wide open he had guys, and my tackling was atrocious...on the few times i had his wide outs covered his qb would take off, it was a true ass kicking....
