| im just curious what the board thinks about this, i punted because grey said it wasnt sim, and im not against that, i understand that... however, my kicker is a senior, i have had him going on 3 years now... his MAXXXXX is 4o yards... and i was kicking into 5 mph winds.... 4th and 12.... on the 24 , what do i do??
Kick the 41 yard FG into 5 MPH wind? Punt? Go for it?
Just curious
Again, see you next year grey.

| 4th quarter... down and less than five on the clock. You bet your ass I'm going for it. Now I don't know the complete situation, but kicking against a 5mph wind no FG is guarenteed...and if you're down at that point and it's getting late then you've got to do what you've got to do. In a close game like that, punts should be honored when not over the 50... or a FG is completely out of question. If you literally don't feel like you can hit the kick and feel like a punt could result in your opponent getting the ball back and running tmie down w. a lead by all means go for it in my opinion.
Of course, like I said I don't know the situation and how it happened.
PS Gruden how'd Troy's son leave on you like that? Didn't you have him starting as a treufreshman, he lead you to victory over me fi I'm not mistaken last season? What more could that kid have possibly wanted??

| The situation was this. On his first drive of the game score 0-0 I stop him on the 28 yard line and its 4th and 3. He goes for it, I stop him. Turnover on downs. Then with the score 7-7 with the half winding down with 2min left I stop him on the 24 yard line. Its then 4th and 12. He lines up to go for it. I pause and say that's not sim at all. Wtf. He calls a timeout and tells me that his kicker is only good from 40 yards out and its a miss. I get mad and maintain no way in hell is that sim. Instead of trying for the FG on the 24 yard line on 4th and 12 he punts it into the endzone for a touchback. That was the situation. The reason I got mad was bc he didn't even attempt a FG and it was his second time going for it on 4th and the score was tied. First time it was like, ok 4th and 3 on the 28 wutever. But on 4th and 12 on the 24 yard line tie game? Come on. That's not even a question. | |

| Ahh I see your frustration... but I see where he's coming from. Personally, I would be all for kicking it from 40+ up to about 50 in a user game because kicking settings are back at 50... I've hit field goals from 50+ but kicking into the wind is always a precaution you msut take. Then again, I've got a strong legged kicker who can consistently hit from 50+... not in games VS CPU where the sliders are way too low to hit from that far. Because the 5mph winds against his kicker, I can see where he's coming from... but you can't expect a PUNT when he's on the 24. I can udnerstand you expecting to get the ball back, but a punt into the endzone for a net yardage of 4 yards... cmon. In this type of game where you've only got one other user... your CC game is played in weeek 4. Sometimes you've got to be ready to adjust for it because it's a huge game that nobody can really afford to be conservative on. Just my 2cents don't kill me! | |

| No one told him to punt. I expected a FG. With sliders set to default that was a makeable FG and he lost the game bc he passed up on two.
And macc you just contradicted yourself from ur earlier post. And best believe if you were in my shoes in a tight game and someone went for it on 4th and 12 on the 24 yard line you'd be alittle irritated too.

Omar spread the ball well completing at least 2 passes to 6 different players... when we dont put the ball on the ground it is a hard offense to stop.. such balance.. Mizzou 52 Georgia Tech 17.. next stop colorado.. then texas tech then we stay in the state of texas as we take on Texas A&M.. Thats gonna be a huge game.. If i can hold onto the ball and get gruden off the field on third downs...
damn i shouldnt have played so early now i cant play till tomorrow ^&&*^%%$%^$^&^%&$#!!!!
ax, how did you do this? they beat the living tar out of me. they blitz constantly, yet my wr's were still covered. they also batted down about 10 balls also. educate me, please. i am clay. mold me. idk i mean they played well for a few quarters but my offense baffles the cpu.. i ran motion options.. option passes.. i mean idk i just ran it all on them.. the passing was def different tho the holes in that defense are always to the outside.. thats why u see soo many diff ppl with catches in the game.. idk goat i mean i just set the cpu up with plays and then ran the counters and fakes and stuff.. and they went right down...as with boondock in that d i saw that the sidelines are open deep because of the one saftey so whatever side he doesnt go to is open or its 1 on 1 coverage and u can exploit it.. Titan it sounds to me like you have a mangina!!! dont let ur woman tell u when ur gonna play... grey is a good dude for waiting i woulda been signed off... lol o well game is done...close one at that.. damn titan u needed that win brotha...congrats grey.. who else u have to play for user games? Beast.. Bucc and the User Game and we can advance..

| Nah grey, no contradiction. If somebody went for it on 4th and 12 I'd rather them do that because I'd feel pretty damn good about my chances at stopping them and keeping 3 off the board in a tight game. Its the going for it on 4th before u hit the 50 yard line... or the going for it on fourth and inches and well past the opponents 30 is what grinds my gears. Because the game doesn't let you play defense on 4th and inches at times. If you don't blitz the middle and or run commit, you won't stop the fullback blast. 4th and 12 - feel free to go for it coz I'm going to be swatting whatever you bring across the middle the fuck down.
Not trying to keep the arguement heated, I'm just saying I understand where he's coming from if his field goal unit really isn't that trustworthy. If he has a strong legged kicker and it'd be a 40 yard kick...VERY makeable in user gmae situations where FG Power and FG Accuracy is at 50. The 5mph wind against you makes it a toss up, though. There's no arguing that.

| Ax i have South Carolina week 10...first time playing Mydas...should be a good one!
Macc Idk man...if were talking sim football. I can't see a coach in a 7-7 game with 2:37 left in the 2nd quarter going for it on their 24 yard line on 4th and 12. I guess a difference in opinion.
And yeah...Titan you really need to do something about your game schedule. I gotta play you every year and i cant stay up till 330am everytime. I understand how you say you had to study and you had a test...but you fail a test you fail a test. Me? I get fired from my job. Those two are a little different. I stayed up for the sake of the OD to ensure we have an advance today, bc i wont be available until 1130pm to play tonight.

| and we have played at other times before, its not like we are forced to play late at night every tingle time we play...
and yes i would have kickeda field goal if i had a decent kicker, but my kicker is very weak in the leg, NO WAY he would make it... still stand by that i could have gone for it

| Oregon avoids upset on game winning FG
Eugene, OR - After last years shocking loss to Arizona State, Coach Chris Smith Ellis had preached all week about maintaining intensity. And coming into the game, Oregon looked prime for payback against a rising Sun Devils team. After the game was delayed for over an hour when the Arizona State bus brokedown, the Ducks elected to receive the ball first. After a couple first downs, they were forced to punt midfield, the last play of the drive resulting in a game changing loss to QB/HB All American Aerilius Williams who was lost for 7 weeks to a broken collar bone.
After no scoring in the first quarter, the Ducks got on the board when HB Jason Bush broke tackles scampering for a 24 yard TD run. Arizona State would respond moments later on a playaction bomb to WR Devin Brewer for 51 yards and the TD, making it 7-7.
The Ducks would come out strong in the 3rd quarter, Scoring on a 3rd and 15 pass on a strike from Freshman Phenom Sam Ross Gordon to WR Obediah Johnson for 20 yards and the TD. Arizona would again answer on a strike to WR Devin Brewer to the tune of 74 yards, breaking a CB tackle to take it to the house and tie the score at 14-14.
Oregon would have big plays of its own, as Ross Gordon would find a wide open Derrick Douglas for 59 Yards, tackled at the 2 yards line. QB Taylor Thomas would punch the ball in to recapture the lead 21-14.Arizona St refused to go away from HB Tony hand took a misdirection handoff 80 yards to the house for a TD, making it 21-21.
Ross Gordon again would answer, finding WR Obediah Johnson for 71 Yards tackled in the 10 yard line. Jason Bush would run it in for his second TD of the game giving the Ducks a 28-21 lead.
Driving with less then 2 minutes in the game, Arizona State would tie up the game on a 8 yard rush by HB Anotonio Parrish to even the score 28-28 with 24 seconds left.
That would proove to much time for Sam Ross Gordon, and with Oregon still having all 3 timeouts remaining would lead a 3 play drive all the way to the 22 yard line. Jason Bush again played a major role, hauling in a 28 yard pass with 4 seconds left.
Arizona State would call timeout and ice the kicker. But luckily Chris Starger calmly knocked in a 38 yard FG as time expired for the win.
Final SCore
Oregon 31 Arizona St 28
QB Sam Ross Gordon, 9-15, 284 Yards, 1TD, 1 Int HB Jason Bush 11 Rushes, 47 yards, 2 TDs, 4 Catches, 65 yards
