| Bulldogs mop up against Kentucky 51-7!! Lamar Herron embraces as Blake Jones catches the ball that would be Herron's all time school record breaking TD for a season. It was a day of milestones and records for the Bulldog's young, efficient SEC East conference clinching football team. Georgia got to play host to Kentucky Wildcats and while it looked good on paper, it turned out to be a great evening for Georgia's Senior Game... however it was the true freshmen who stole the spotlight.
"It was a great way to leave Sanford Stadium for me, in my five years in this program I've NEVER heard it that loud, so it's a really good tradition that Coach Macc is starting here. Jake made the fumble, interception, whatever you wanna call it, thank you I'll have that-for six and it was just insane," Darnell Colvin said, the teams starting MLB.
Despite only being a first year, true freshman Jake Jackson has etched his name into being a serious front runner for the Thorpe Award at the end of this year. He leads the Bulldogs in tackles (76) tackles for loss (24) he was in just about every tackle for the Bulldogs despite only finishing with four solo, one going for a loss but his first quarter fumble return for six was enough to make anyone watching says "okay, wow". He's also matured into a very vocal positive leadership role on the team and even being young has the ability to inspire even his upperclass teammates.
"The kid just wants to win. Playing next to him this year has been a pleasure and I've never worked with someone whose so dedicated, focused, aggressive, attentive... he's got it all this kid is the total package. As a soon to be alumni, I've got nothing but faith that we've found our free-safety for the next three years, if he doesn't go pro before then," says strong safety, Blake Davis another senior who played in his last college home game.
After Jackson had the roof nearly blown off in Sanford Stadium, it made the job of quarterback Lamar Herron much much easier. Herron earned his season's first player of the game award with four total touchdowns, three throwing and one rushing... but Herron also eclipsed the single season school record for throwing touchdowns with 26 in the 4th quarter.
"This season's had it's ups and downs for me but I just hope Bulldog Nation hasn't lost faith that I'm the guy. I've heard all the reports and talk that I'm not good enough, not ready... I just went out and had fun today and after I'd allready thrown to, Blake came over to me and reminded me you know? The next drive I couldn't help myself he was wide open and I hit him right in the chest," Herron had to say about the game.
Herron has certainly had his struggles with 27 interceptions on the season, at times he looks stellar and like a fifth year senior starter but it's defensive pressure that get in his face early some plays and the young quarterback forces throws because he plays confidently. He's had some sour games, most notedly the rivalry in Georgia Tech - but he'll close out the season with big games against last week Auburn and this week a fine preformance against Kansas.
"We're going to need him to continue to play at a high level. We've got our handsful with Maryland next week - that game will be tough because I know Coach Hickerson has College Park fired up for our visit. And from there, it's against OLE MISS in the SEC Championship. Should be an interesting end to the season here in Georgia..." Macc had to say about the teams upcoming schedule.
So for the first time Macc will have to face his former coaches Rebels, a group of very talented seasoned players that have had no fear of expressing their geniune hate and unnappreciation for Coach Macc's existance after the 2014 last minute switch to the Bulldog program.
"I've chosen not really to talk about it, I feel horrible. I've had to change my cell phone number so many times from former recuits mad, sad, furious - you name it. It was merely a career decision and because it was, I decided not to talk about it until now because if Rebel Nation would have fallen apart, I would have felt terrible. But look at them now, the senior season QB Shaun Chambers is having is unbelievable. 2500 yards passing, 20+ TDs with only 4 picks? He's playing on a tremendously high level right now, Doug Smith is a hard-nosed runner going to be very tough to tackle. And Tyler Howe whatta breakout year he's having at linebacker... it's going to be tough to see these kids for the first time, physically in the game and emotionally afterwards. I just want to go out and do what I can to bring another SEC Championship to Georgia and see where that takes us in the Bowl Series...but our entire focus is on that game against Maryland," Macc said.

| Costly Win?
College Park, MD - The Maryland Terrapins finished up an undefeated conference season on a cold and snowy Saturday afternoon with a 27 to 7 victory over Boston College. However, the Terps lost their starting running back Jason Bennett for 4 weeks with a broken rib, which will definitely keep him out of the Florida State game next week and likely the ACC championship game against North Carolina. The Terps took a 10-0 lead into halftime and coasted the rest of the way. Mitchell Hopkins did not play in the second half for pre cautionary measures.

| Ax you need to stop just logging in when I'm advancing the week. I know I didn't post it here but you signed on your name, saw I was on I was in the process of advancing and you just log me out. We run the risk of fucking up the file when we do that, please be more cautious about it. I love that you and Buc can advance when I'm not around but we can't be kicking people off the name. | |
