Coach Hickerson and his staff have picked up 2 more commits in what has been a slow recruiting class amidst all the rumors that Coach Hickerson would be interested in leaving if The University of Florida were to come calling and there have been rumblings that Gators head coach Urban Meyer may be on a short leash after a horrendous season this year, however the Gators athletic department has made it clear he will not be fired after this season. However, all of this is is internet and message board rumblings for the most part and nothing has been said by Coach Hickerson or The Florida Gators on having interest in each other. However, Hickerson has been a lifelong Gator fan, so it makes sense.
Anyhow, on to the business, MTSU has picked up only 3 commitments thus far this season:
3*** WR Steve Brewster out of Kennesaw, GA was the first commit for the Blue Raiders. Brewster is a very balanced wide out who will not blow you away with speed or make the first man miss every time, or catch every single ball thrown in his direction, but he has the ability to do all of the above on any given day, its jut not a guarantee. Could be a decent receiver for MTSU in the future, however, with all that MTSU is losing this season, he will likely see action starting in week 1 next season. Needs to work on getting open.
3*** ATH Anthony Harris out of Hillsborough, NC is the second commit for MTSU. Harris is a 6'2 209 pound athlete who most believe will play corner for the Blue Raiders next season, or the year after that probably, the Blue Raiders return all but 1 corner I do believe.
3*** DT Andrew Brittain is a big, 6-4 303 pound defensive tackle out of Canton, AL who the Blue Raiders like quite a bit. they believe he has a TON of potential as he has the ability to get off blocks almost as good as any lineman in this class, however he needs to work on finishing the play when he gets to the ball carrier. Brittain possesses good strength and will only get stronger so this should not be a problem, he may see limited playing time next season, but may redshirt, he could go either way, but definitely has the tools to be a good tackle for MTSU down the road.
