Everyones been beating a dead horse. jesse's comment was just downright ignorant "only way you can win, god bless" it's not the only way I can win. But I bet if you played Ax 10 times you'd be lucky to get one w. Like I said, next time I'll manually drain the clock making both myself and my opponent wait that much longer unnessecarily.

nah i think what grey is getting at is not to do it like that at all.. run the ball posses the clock.. but dont use chew clock or sit at the play calling screen all day either just kinda play and run cause ur still gonna eat up loads of clock remeber even if u pick ur play faast ther is an automatic run off

Nobodies even acknowledged that aspect of it. Or the fact that I play a slow-paced pro style offense that smashes the ball down it's opponents mouth. Ball control and hard running.

As opposed to some people who use the spread option and no huddle quickly to the line. Not sure the difference there, they're both used in different ways to keep an opponent on their heels. And if it came down to it again, I'd try and keep the ball as much as I could the next time we play.

I think what is trying to be explained, is there is a difference in ball control, converting 3rd downs and keeping drives alive...against blatantly running the seconds down on the play clock.

I think there is a difference. I was in a game with Grey I think, and I had the ball for almost a whole quarter. But it was like a 13-15 play drive.

So I think that is what some of the guys are talking about.

My thought would be only in the 4th quarter and having a lead.

Well seeing as I only used it in the 2nd Q on my last drive... the 4th was the only other time I used it. So it's not like I've completely broke the rule if this were the one in place. I used it once during the 1st Q because my guys we're tired and I was going to run the clock down to 0 to get to the quarter break anyways. Then I used it in the 2nd to control the ball and have the last possession. I shouldn't have to rush my offense, nor will I.

It's not like I abused it, I used it in the 4th in a close game because I could not stop his offense (besides the forced fumble...lucky break). I would do the same thing in this situation again.

the way you desribe the use of it here makes it much more reasonable macc

lol I'm not trying to lobby to be able to use it at will, but if anyone's played Ax they'll know (without giving alot of his style away) he can score almost whenever he wants. He has so many weapons and options... and can make low 80OVR players play like 99OVR vets... so it's nerve racking. Plus, running the clock keeps your guys fresh and I've seen very little fatigue (how the green player icons turn brown and to red) when using it, so I use that to my advantage because I don't get to use these razzle dazzle rah rah spread option shinangans lol.

BTW Anyone know a good pro-style offense with Wildcat in their playbook? Ole Miss is the only one I know of.

In Macc defense what is the difference between a team running no huddle vs milking the play clock...If you have to limit possession because your having trouble stopping a team it does make good sense...I like to slow the game down when I play never run no huddle unless it a 2min drive, and usually don't get the play off till around 10 ticks on the clock after audibles and such, so in a sense I'm may be guilty of this?

Virginia Tech is pretty nice. Ace, I-From, Shotgun, Wildcat. Lots of power running, along with some spread aspects in the shotgun game.
