The Beavs have signed their first recruit of the season. He just so happens to be the #1 WR prospect in the nation...5*****WR Demetrius Morris 5'11 172lbs from Tukwila, Washington...Morris has A- speed, he should be a fine addition to the WR stable, and they could use some more depth.

oh he'll be good. but watch out for Kyle Curry in 2 years. I mean the kid has a B+ catch rating and an A+ spectacular catch rating as a freshman.

The Beavs signed two more recruits
3***DT Thomas Molesi 6-1 327lbsOceanside offensive lineman, Thomas Molesi is a versatile athlete that can play anywhere along the line. He is having a great senior season and has helped lead his team to an undefeated record that he hopes will end with a berth in the California State Championship game. After committing to OSU back in the summer, Molesi talks about his season and when he hopes to visit Corvallis.

4****HB Malcolm Marable 5'11 188lbs The Oregon State program received a number of early commitments in this recruiting cycle and one of those commits was on hand this weekend to see what he called, "the best game of the season for the Beavers." Running back, Malcolm Marable was on hand for the game against Stanford and came away very impressed with what he saw out of his future team.

Thats three total signings so far for the Beavs : 5***** WR Demetrius Morris,4****HB Malcolm Marable,3***DT Thomas Molesi

Scout.com Player Evaluation:
STRENGTHS
Burst Out Of Breaks
Hands
Size
AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT

A receiver as well as a safety in high school, Jones was rough around the edges playing receiver, but his nasty dispostion and penchant for contact translates well to the safety position. He has excellent size and is fundamentally sound as a tackler, but won't overlook a chance to make a big hit or interception. Good enough in coverage for free safety and physical enough for strong. Great footwork and a natural center prospect, reaches down his gap well, shows the ability to trap off the snap easily, and knows how to finish blocks. Great awareness of the second level, surprisingly adept at pulling, and pretty strong at the point of attack. Great technique using his hands. Can have trouble with a nose playing right over him. - Miller Safrit

Flexibility
At 6-6 299lbs, Peters is a load and he knows how to use his weight. Peters punishes DTs at the point of attack. Has good explosiveness off the line but must work on his flexibility as he plays high at times causing him to struggle at the second level.

A strong-armed, super productive pocket passer who should finish his storied prep career as the all-time leading passer in Nebraska state history. Harvey has been a standout since his freshman year at Ralston High, when he threw for 1,700 yards and 16 TDs and enters his senior season this fall with 7,597 career passing yards. Bob Lichtenfels/Scout.com

Mickey Perry QB 6'1 200lbs, Liberty, Texas 4**** 5th ranked QB
Mickey Chose Oregon State over Oklahoma and Texas Tech

Scout.com Player Evaluation:

AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT
Accuracy / Consistency
Touch
Perry has arguably the biggest arm in the country for the Class of 2013. At times he can rely on his arm a bit too much and needs to display a little more touch, rather than always going for the fastball. Can run, but is much more comfortable in the pocket, Perry has excellent mechanics, a quick release, and a tremendously strong arm. Scott Kennedy, Scout.com

Has very quick feet and loose hips. He can turn and run with receivers and shows good straight line speed. He is aggressive and can play up on receivers. Lamb: “I’m quick, agile and very athletic. I have a great back pedal and hips. I’m just very competitive and I can play flashy sometimes. I like to make the quarterback pay.
“I still want to get stronger. Plus I’d like to improve my awareness of the ball and get faster overall.”

David Davis WR 6'6 178lbs, Dallas, Texas 3*** 24th ranked WR

Has rare size. What sets him apart from other kids with that size are his athleticism, coordination and speed at that height. He has good acceleration and straight line speed and could be a real deep threat in college. He also has good ability after the catch, able to take short passes and go the distance with them. Relatively inexperienced, he just needs to continue to work on some of the little things, like blocking and route running.
Biography:
David Davis finished his junior season with 40 receptions for 797 yards and nine touchdowns. He says he can bench 277-pounds, squat 305 and claims a 38-inch vertical jump.

Davis: “I can create matchup problems. I can’t be jammed and most guys aren’t big enough to cover me. When I go up in the red zone there’s no stopping me. I’m very explosive.
“I want to run more precise routes. I’m still working on my feet.”
