| #2 Ole Miss Spoils Gators Homecoming 45-28!
In what would be one of the best first halfs of college football this season, the Ole Miss Rebels turned it up in the second half and never looked back. Pat Patterson, the teams #1 WR and return man earned player of the game after having returned TWO kick returns for paydirt as well as receiving a TD as well. Patterson had over 250 all purpose yards today and he's made an early case for Return Man Of the Year.
True Freshman RB Leonard James showed why he's earned himself touches this season carrying the ball 18 times for 76 yards and a TD, wearing the Gator defence right down. Marc Payne took the majority of the first half hand offs for 105 yards on 15 touches for 1TD.
"We have a thunder and lightning combo in the backfield this season and it's really worked well for us. They work well out of the Wildcat together and teams have a tough time tackling Leonard and keeping up with Marc. The emergence of Leonard James has really allowed us to do many different things with Marc and not put so much of the weight that he had on his shoulders last season this year. We're happy with how our young backs have progressed," Macc said.
MLB DT Shackelford led tacklers with 8 tackles, FS Jeremy Thompson had 6 tackles 3 going for a loss. DT Warren Martin had 6 tackles and 1 sack. SS TJ Joseph hauled in another INT and he's got his sights set on a Thorpe Trophy.

| The #12 Oregon State Beavers rebounded from last weeks ugly defeat, and crushed the Cougars of Washington State, 49-3. Freshman QB Ryan Gates passed the 300 yard mark passing and didnt throw a pick for the 1st time all season, hes slowly becoming the future star Coach 9's needs. As for the running game, it looks like SO Jamar Lane has surpassed last years starter Malcolm Marable, but I would expect that Malcolm will still get his share of carries. Offensive Standouts QB R Gates 19-31 313yds 2TDs POTG HB J Lane 28att 127yds 4TDs 2rec 11yds HB M Marable 11att 84yds 1TD TE R Young 6rec 119yds 2TDs WR D Morris 5rec 75yds WR A Peterson 2rec 52yds Defensive Standouts LB D Welch 11Tkls 2TFL FS W Storey 10Tkls 1TFL 1Int LB S Gates 7Tkls 3TFL 2Sacks LB M Bibbee 6Tkls 3TFL 2Sacks DT T Molesi 2Tkls 1TFL 1Sack Next up for the #12 Beavs, a huge user matchup with Coach Macc and his #2 Ole Miss Squad. | |

Yeah man, I'm defenitely liking the production I'm getting out of them. I changed my auto subs so that once an RB gets below 80 STA he subs out so it allows to run a proper 2 back set. I won't lie - at one point Payne was nowhere to be found... James was my #1 and it wasn't because Payne was injured or anything... almost like he slipped away and went to the locker room early and helped himself to some of Coach's beer and kush... I dunno. It's a nice one-two like Reggie and LenDale in their senior years. And your old boys are certainly no joke - they gave me a run for my money a few weeks back the D is solid and almost like you can't do anything on them when they don't feel like giving yards up. Stanford is a tough match-up with these sliders and they make you earn the W. George McKinney is a beast I knew I wanted that kid!

| UNC will travel to Maryland for a 6 pm central kickoff this evening. Here is a bit of Coach Hickerson's presser:
Coach, the big question this week has been who will be starting at quarterback for the Terps Saturday, do you have an answer?
Yes i do, Donnie Meyer will start again, this will be his second career start, and his 2nd in a row. We feel he gives us the best chance to win the game.
There have been comparisons of him to Vince Young, what are your comments on that?
Well he is a great athlete, comparing someone to Vince Young at the college level, that is an incredible compliment for Donnie, but I am here to tell you right now that Donnie Meyer is not Vince Young. Not close to it, he has the ability to make plays with his legs, and throw on the run, but as far as being Vince Young, no... not at all actually.
Coach do you feel like you need to beat Carolina to prove yourself?
No, not at all, this isnt about me. It is about the kids that are on the field playing, I just lead them into battle and try to prepare them the best I can, they will be ready.
Would you rather beat them now, or in the ACC championship?
Depends when you ask me the question, but since your asking me now, then the answer is now, if you ask me in two months, the answer will be then. : ) yall have a good day!

| Ohio State goes on the road and throttles Northwestern to earn first Big 10 Win in 2013 56-6 Evanston, IL--
In their first conference matchup of the young 2013 season, the Buckeyes led by the duo of Berry and Hall in the backfield ran wild against the Wildcats to earn a Big 10 victory.
Hall and Berry combined for over 200 yards and 4 TD's, and the SilverBullets held the Wildcats under 150 total yards, and scored a TD of their own as FS Jamie Wood ran an interception back.
The special forces unit also helped out as the RECON squad returned a Kickoff 91 yards, with Jordan Hall doing the duty.
The game was once set at 7-6 Ohio State, and that is when the Bucks hit the throttle and didn't look back. The second and third string got some valuable playing time in the second half. Something that Coach Phillips likes to do once a game is in hand. " If we have a game in hand, it is invaluable to get some young guys game reps. You never know when you will need them to step up in big situations."
The Bucks now improve to 5-0 overall, and 1-0 in conference.

| This week Oregon had thier home opener against the #16 ranked Stanford Cardnials.. Could the ducks hold on to get thier 4 str8 win against a ranked oppenet this week? The standford squad is fired up after beating a very talented oregon state team last week and thier confidence would definatley carry over int tho game as Stanford wanted to the show the world.. they aint no slouch....
On the very first drive Standford would drive led by a very balanced attack and score 7-0 Cardnials.. Oregon would respond with a very impressive drive of thier own and tie the game up at 7 a piece.. The ducks d-fense would get them to punt however the ducks normally verry efficient quarter back who into this game had no turnovers would do jut that fumbling the ball on a scramble the cardinals would scoop and score and take a 14-7 Lead in autzen. On the next drive the ducks would drive but eventually be forced to punt the ball. stanford would drive but the d would stand tall forcing a fg.. 17-7 Cardinals on the very first offensive play for the ducks mr efficient would be less than throwing an interception and giving the cardinals the ball back but again the defense would bail him out not giving up much room and forcing another fg..20-7 Cardinals.."At that point i said to my qb hey man u dont have to carry this team shear the weight.. ur trying too hard out there just trust ur players with the ball.. this thing is far from over" Santana. and his qb would do just the with outstanding freshman rb Howard helping lead the charge as the ducks score making it 20-14 the next drives for both teams were ruled by the defense and the game would do into half with the score 20-14.
"we need to let our rb do some damage they came here prepared for him tho forcing hawk to make some harder throws than he is used to we need howard to be big in this second half!" Santana. And be big he was first drive after half was all howards 5 carries 45 yards and a td.. 21-20 Ducks. Both defenses would dominate the third quarter after forcing punt after punt. when the ducks got the ball back late in the third hawkins again would be picked off breathing life into the stanford squad who was basically being shut down the whole 3rd quarter. But the momentum wouldnt swing as the defense fueled byt the zoo would force them to settle for a long fg and they would miss. The fourth quarter was dominated by the ducks defense as they never gave up another point and Oregon would pound the cardinals with howard who would punch it in 2 more times to come away with the 35-20 Victory..."When jackson went down with the arm injury i let howard carry us he is explosive and as long as he is gettin 5 yards a carry why not give him the ball? Im usually a throw first kind of guy but when u have talent like that u adjust to what u have..." Mike Howard would end the game 25 att 208 yards and 3 td.. he is off to a great start this season and thats another big win for the ducks who are climbing every week in the polls and they basically had every recruit on hand for that game so its a huge win fir the entire program and the athletic director is pleased with the direction this team is headed in with Coach Santana only being here a few months...

| The North Carolina Tarheels came in perfect and ranked number 1, coach GoatStain also came in perfect against conference rival and friend Coach Hickerson, all of this changed today. Maryland upset the number 1 ranked Tarheels 31-28 in College Park at Byrd Stadium. Maryland piled up 445 yards or offense to UNC's 251, only 39 of Marylands yardage came through the air in what was Donnie Meyer's second career win as a starter in as many games, he went a perfect 8 for 8, mostly coming off of short playaction passes. A stat that jumps out about this is, 7 of his 8 completions were to different receivers. Meyer began to receive comparisons to former University of Texas star QB Vince Young and today he definitely looked comparable on the ground. Meyer had 16 carries for 153 yards and 2 touchdowns including a long 74 yard scamper after he bowled over a UNC defender. Senior running back Caleb Porzel had one of the biggest games of his career as well with 28 carries for 212 yards and also 2 touchdowns, his long was 53 yards.
The Terps defense held UNC to 251 total yards, and -21 on the ground. The Terps defense used a very balanced attack. "We played our asses off on defense, I think our leading tackler had like 5 tackles, it was a complete team effort," said Coach Hickerson following the victory."
The Terps jumped out to a 14-0 lead on touchdown runs by Porzel and Meyer before UNC's K. Hass scored on a 59 yard pass from B. Renner. It appeard the Terps had awoken the beast that was the number 1 team in the nation, but not so fast. Donnie Meyer answered on a 12 yard touchdown run after he was hit in the backfield, shook off the tackler, and scrambled into the endzone for 6. Surely the beats was awake now to start the second half, no, the Terps came out with a drive led by Porzel's 50 yard run and then he punched it in the endzone himself on a yard run. Now the beast was awake. trailing 28-7 the Tarheels began to play scoring on back to back possessions, once on a T. Curry run and then on a laser pass from Renner to J. Meyers from 22 yards out. 28-21, brand new ballgame. The Terps drove down field in desperate need of an answer, got a field goal which was huge for their confidence. North Carolina answered that with a pass from Renner to C Galloway with just under 3 minutes remaining but that was all she wrote. Maryland and their dominant running game ran out the clock and the players stormed the field in what is the biggest victory of the Coach Hickerson campaign.
Coach Hickerson - "This was fun, it really was. Hats off to Coach GoatStain and the Tarheels, they put together one hell of a comeback, and had me pulling hair out and biting fingernails over there, but our guys stayed relaxed and calm. Donnie played great and did exactly what we asked him to do, and once again we rode Caleb, I dunno what we are gonna do when he is gone, but we definitely will use him up while he is here."

| Auburn pile drives South Caroline 49-7 behind the legs and arm of JR QB Tanquary Parrish 5 total TD...War Eagles D was on fire, and appears to be coming of age...Parrish spreads the ball around to many WR/TE/RB to keep the SC defence off balance all game long.....It was a big recruiting weekend for Auburn, and hope to reap some recruits come next week! | |
