| -With a bye week upon us, lets take a look at the state of the MTSU program which is now in its fourth year under head coach Jeff Hickerson. The Blue Raiders currently stand at 3-2 on this year's campaign and are 1-0 in Big East play for the first time since Hickerson's first year on the job, it has always seemed they suffer a let down after opening the year playing great against elite competition, only to step on the field for that first conference game, 3 out of 4 years against Syracuse, and suffer a huge letdown. Not this year however, as the Blue Raiders had a miraculous come from behind victory outscoring the Orangemen 33 to 8 in the second half to get a huge victory. "Anytime you can start off 1-0 in conference it is huge, that is 1 game down that you wont ever fall back on the competition with, nobody in the conference can do better than what you did in your game, all you can do is get to 1-0," said Hickerson this week. MTSU will host a struggling Rutgers team after the bye week before traveling to Cincinnati who is also struggling mightily this season. They will then have another bye, and if they play up to their ability, which has always been a big if in the past with this team, they should be 3-0 in the Big East heading into Morgantown for a huge showdown with West Virginia who has already defeated South Florida and Rutgers pretty easily and should be 4-0 heading into the game with the Blue Raiders, if both of these teams are at an undefeated mark in the Big East at that point, look for it to draw some big national attention and two top 25 ranked teams. National attention is what the MTSU program needs to continue building, Hickerson has done a great job thus far but you can never be big enough, "When I came here MTSU was on the rise, Coach Stockstill had laid the pieces for a tremendous program and gave me the keys to it in the form of Dwight Dasher, we had a decent season that year, won a bowl game, and sent those seniors out in style, but more importantly what those seniors did, was continue growing this program to a national level, our move to the Big East grew us a little more, and every time we go out on a Saturday, or Thursday, and play a game, more importantly win a game, we grow even more, we never look to stop growing, we want this name out everywhere, to every single recruit in the country, from a 1 star kicker in Anchorage, Alaska to a 5 star running back in Odessa, Texas... we want every single player in the country to want me or another coach on this staff calling them and asking them if they are interested in coming to play ball in Murfreesboro, TN," said Hickerson. If the Blue Raiders could sandwich two wins in between these two bye weeks before heading to Morgantown, that would be a tremendous step in that direction. MTSU has played West Virginia very well over these past 4 years, better than the casual fan would guess, so let's look a little further down the line just for the journalist's sake, thats what we do anyway, right? The Blue Raiders walk out of Morgantown with a victory and are 4-0 in Big East play, then have South Florida and Louisville at home, play up to your capability once again, in your own house, and you are 6-0 with a huge matchup at Heinz Field with the Pittsburgh Panthers and long time rival of Hickerson, Coach Macc, who will be coming off a bye and will be well prepared for the Blue Raiders, Coach Macc took the loss to MTSU personally in his first year as Pitt head coach and has not let history repeat itself since, "For a school to come into the league in its first year, and beat a tradition rich program like this, I took it personally, and I have not let it happen since, and we do not plan on letting it happen again, said Macc in regards to the first year beatdown received by the Blue Raiders. I am just saying, there is a possibility there could be a Big East championship game this year, in the form of MTSU at Pittsburgh at Heinz Field, has a good ring to it doesnt it? If both teams take care of business like they should, if they come out and perform each week, avoid injuries, and any off the field problems, the two will meet then, in the last conference game of the season for each, with a hint of Conference Championship in the air.

| Offense could not be contained in Jersey. Pitt routes the Rutgers nightmare season wrong with a 54-24 victory.
QB Jordan Eldridge lead the way throwing six touchdown passes, four of which to WR Kory Rogers.
RB Reggie Hall was in the endzone three times, two rushing and one a 35 yard reception Hall simply took to the corner and turned on the jets for an easy untouched score. Hall however, was held to 87 yards rushing despite his hard nosed preformance.
"Reggie brings so much to the table for us here. Our coaching staff was grumbling all preseason and even since our bowl game last post season, really. About not having Dion, how will we replace such a dynamic back etc. etc. To be brutally honest with you, I can't believe we even got a solid four years out of Dion. Alot of people don't realize that Reggie's a Glen Falls, NY kid. Dion's from Albany. Every college coach knows the talent pool is thin in the state of New York. But there always seems to be another kid produced from the area that comes in early and makes college football look like it comes easy to them. Reggie has solidfied his position as the starting and feature running back on our team," Coach Macc said.
Rivals.com 4* WR prospect Allen Cox was on hand, made the trip up to New Jersey and after the game texted Coach Macc, commiting to becoming a Pittsburgh Panther.
"The way the offence played today, I want to be apart of a team like that. With the opportunity I have in receiving an early scholarship offer from Pitt, it felt like it was something I shouldn't weigh options with. It felt like the right place for me. I'm a big strong dude, alot of people say I play with the intensity of a tight end but with the hands like a possession guy. I don't think I do anything well and out of the ordinary, but coaches tell me my learning curve has unlimited potential," reported Cox saying during his media conference about his commitment.
Cox continues to play for his prep ball in the Mississippi D3 league for his high school, Starkville. He has 11 catches 237 yards and six touchdowns through just three games in his senior year. Cox's junior season he shattered Missisippi high school records with 78 catches 2071 yards 19 touchdowns.

| I agree, i don't know whats goin on with that. He would get upset if his games get simmed, but he hasn't played in like a week almost. This quietness goes to show how much Ax contributes to this OD. When he's down it seems like a ghost town around here. I hate it. | |

| Sea of TD's
Seamonster & Bennett Power Oregon in win over Stanford
Eugene, OR - Clearly Lache Seamonster is garnering the attention of defenses around the country. Stanford routinely filled the box with 8 to 9 defenders to try and stop the Little Monster that could, with no success. Seamonster rushed for 207 yards and 4 TD's on 31 carries and could not be stopped once again. He has now rushed for an astonishing 959 Yards, on 124 carries with 15 TD's.
However, there was another coming out party of sorts. Oregon QB Bryan Bennett who has been in an early season slump, broke out in a big way throwing for 362 yards and 3 TD's. If Oregon's passing attack can get back on track, and couple that with the nations #1 rushing offense, the Ducks look in prime position to challenge for a national title. With big games still ahead with Arizona and Washington, could be a great season for the Ducks.
Final Score
Oregon - 52 Stanford - 24

will i get two advances on it tonight? i doubt it. but damn i can dream right?
so looking at the stats...Gator you held Seamonster to 89 rushing yards. This was before he had an identity. I wonder if we met again, if youd be able to hold the Monster to 89 again

however, a big part of me holding him to that probably was the fact you had to come back in the second half..
