5 Star Safeties reconsidering soft verbals to Oregon
Both Marcus Johnson and George Wright, highly regarded 5 Star safeties are rethinking their soft commit status to Oregon.
"Its really important that we get early playing time and with #1 SS Andre Williams most likely committing to Oregon we just felt like their were opportunities at other programs that would fit us better" Both players commented
Oregon is having another break neck class, last week saw the signing of the #1 MLB Adam Johnson who has been most compared to Houston Texans MLB Demarco Ryans
The Ducks got yet another boost to their O-Line with the commit of Army Navy All American LT Antonio Watkins who has a great motor.
After Oregon blew out CAL last week, it looks as if the Ducks will receive the final two 5 Stars to their class DT Robert Odom and SS Andre Williams who both soft commited after their visit up to Autzen.
"We really were looking for O-line and D-line depth in this class and we got that. We solidified our LBer core with Johnson who is going to be an animal for our program. We were hoping to come away with a big time HB, but it just didn't happen for us this year. With all the WR's weve been landing, looks like well be doing some spread action" a happy Oregon Coach beamed.
"Defense and O-lines win Championships, and the Ducks will always focus on those two aspects" Coach Chris Smith-Ellis said.
Oregon looks to stay perfect as they visit a strong Arizona team. Arizona will be without two key Defensive starters still suffering from injuries MLB Talib King and their all pro DT. Oregon also has it's Star Running Back Aerilius Williams on the shelf another 3 weeks looking for a possible return for the looming Oregon South Carolina showdown in 3 weeks. WR Michael Owens Jr. returned last week, and although limited in practice was probable for tonights game against the Wilcats
Oregon @ Arizona Kickoff at 5:30pm

- Personally, I don't agree with any of the rules onr ecruiting restrictions but we took a vote and it's unanimous that everyone wants a limit and that would be the punishment. If your best are rated 79 and there's multiple, then I assume you'll have your pick who to cut. I don't like it because now people can say "Oh I'll just target the 5stars... and if I sign too many I can just cut the ones I don't want," so now NOBODY gets them they jsut get thrown in the garbage. It's a STUPID penalty. It should count against your limit for the following season or something.
No offence Grey, sorta your bad for targeting so many. I remember you being one of the guys that said I'd signed too many one year if I'm not mistaken? It's easy to go over on them because they're so appealing. I think people make way too big of a deal w/ 5stars tho... I've signed plenty 4stars or Juco transfers that were rated better than any 5star I've had.
The game does, however make 5star recruits progress a hellova lot better than 3stars or 4stars. Kinda stupid, but that's EA.
The Panthers will invade Syracuse 2:15pm Eastern Kick off. Back in the lineup after his injury is running back Tommy Holt who promises a HUGE game on the ground!! Coach Macc says there will be an offensive overhaul, he will be trying some new things and adding some different aspects tot he offense. If the Panthers want to contend with USF, they'll need to mix it up from here on out so it starts NOW. All of the preperation for next years hosting of the Bulls will begin this week vs. Cuse. No remorse. No prisoners. The Panthers will be BACK for their Big East crown!!! I agree Macc I think recruiting restrictions are silly....I don't mind a hard number like 20 recruit max, so teams can't load up a class with 30 plus players, that get cut, dilating the talent pool level overall....but to cap 5* I'm not in favor of...

| The 5 star limit needs to stay I've won a nc an I'm a 6 star and I struggle to get 3 5 stars a year with a 5 star limit if you take it off it's not really fair I think 7 5 stars is plenty | |

| I personally think 7 5* is fair also, I think a 20 player max would be fair. Considering we can only have 70players, if you happen to recruit the max each year, your looking at having to cut some players. cause you can't have 80 players on your roster | |

20 if you have alot of seniors Less complicated the better....Someone needs to post a set of rules of recruiting....doesn't sound like everyone is clear on this?..in regards to 5* players.....we are all going after the top 5 star players so competition will be tough...If someone can pull in 10 5star players why shouldn't they be aloud to? Doubt it will happen, but if they can get them they have earned it, why cap that?

| I can see your point Chris. I guess if you are lucky enough to grab 10 5* from all of us, you kinda do deserve it. I don't really care either way, especially right now since I am worried about getting just 4* lol. Maybe if Ohio State comes a calling I may be looking at this differently | |

| USF keeps its quest for the Big East title with a big win against West Virginia 43-26, behing 300+ yards and 3TD by Freshman QB Pettit
USF is #12 in the Coaches Poll, and #8 in the Media Poll.
This could be a very exciting finish as Penn State lurks as the last regular season game also in the Top 10 as of right now.
Ohio State is out of the top 25 all together at 2-3 =)

| As far as penalties for this year go, the only rule that was specifically in place and has been was the limit of 7 5star players. Grey, you knew about it at the beginning of the season, shouldn't have targeted so many. It's amazing you've managed soft commitments from as many of them as you have thus far, but just goes to show how fucked up the CPU logic in this game is.
I'm a 6star school and I've signed just one this year. I had about 3-4 on my board at the beginning of the year, one just jumped across the state to PSU and one I'm still fighting GGang for. I know my limits, I know I can get good players in the 4* 3* range.

that why these restrictions seem to be BS...Pitt and Mizz have loaded up on talent, you guys are so far ahead of the rest of the crew its crazy...now that the rest of us have got our 6 star and a chance to compete there is a CAP?????An example, MIZZ had 18 players rated over 90.....A&M 4.... MIZZ TOP WR 99 99 99 95 92 91 A&M TOP PLAYERS HB 97 LE 94 LOLB 91 LT 91 CB 89

| Okay gruden don't shoot the messenger like this was ALL OUR IDEA.
If I remember correctly, you were among the people who lobbied for this limit? Nobody cared while we were building our team until everyone started MOVING into new schools. Just because YOU guys decided to move schools, doesn't mean we should also have to put ourselves down to level the playing field. Ax and I have stayed at the school we've started at, this was NEITHER of our ideas. I would be fine without any restrictions, but everytime there's a Mydas Meltdown, he points to the lack of Rules in play. I have some free time to do it, so I'm going off what we've collectively decided as a group. This isn't to make my or Ax's team better, this is for the better of the OD... so we have a set of rules we can say okay here LOOK, break them... there's punishments. So nobody has ANY excuses why they break them.

| for the record gruden when we started we were all trash and decided no limit and i only went over 7 one time.. and that was last year.. the difference with me and macc has been we have been at 6 stars forever and that helps progression and we haven't left our schools.. my wr core is from having that one season where i signed all those damn wr.. similar to the year grey is having right now.. ther has been soo much movement that is what has allowed us to dominate.. yes recruiting good players as helped but i get consistent 5-7 ovr boost thru progression and thats linked directly to ur stars.. | |
